CISP’s Toledo Data Center and Managed services are SAS 70 Type II certified

SAS 70 or Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70: Service Organizations, commonly abbreviated as SAS 70, is an auditing statement issued by the Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), officially titled “Reports on the Processing of Transactions by Service Organizations”.

SAS 70 defines the professional standards used by a service auditor to assess the internal controls of a service organization and issue a service auditor’s report.

Network

All of CISP’s Internet connections and local circuits to CISP are delivered over a self-healing SONET fiber ring. Those connections connect to separate routers, are scanned for intrusion and malicious activity, and forwarded to dual core switches for distribution within CISP. This provides multiple routes for customer equipment to connect to the outside world.

CISP is well-connected to Tier 1 network providers – OC-3’s with Verizon, Qwest, and Level 3 and Cogent.

Recently, Time Warner built into CISP for another layer of redundancy and Internet bandwidth.

Environmental Services

The primary co-location space is climate controlled (temperature, humidity, dust) by four 30-ton Liebert air conditioners. Cold air is delivered into specific zones and each zone is fed by multiple units. This ensures computer equipment gets proper cooling, even when configured in high-density designs.

Power

CISP provides Dual UPS feeds, each fed from grid power or a separate generator (2-N+1 or S+S). Customer equipment can remain operational without interruption, even with multiple power failures.

Fire Suppression

All mission-critical areas at CISP including the data centers and power infrastructure are protected by independent FM-200 waterless fire suppression systems. The FM-200 system can detect the first signs of a fire and extinguish it in minutes.

No other commercially available fire suppression system extinguishes fires faster than FM-200. FM-200 systems rapidly detect and suppress ordinary combustible, electrical, flammable liquid and gas fires in just seconds, often before the system has finished discharging
