I. About Cisdem OCRWizard

Cisdem OCRWizard is a powerful Mac OCR application that can process PDF documents,

scanned image files and scanned documents in over 49 languages. With the most advanced

built-in OCR technology it can easily and accurately transform your files to multiple formats.

Its rather intuitive and user-friendly interface, groundbreaking conversion technology, and

various available options will meet all your personal, educational, and commercial needs for

PDF, image files or scanned document management. So start using it to handle your files, and

you are about to have the greatest software-using experience of your lifetime.

II. Activating this Application Cisdem OCRWizard is available on our official website, you can download it at

http://www.cisdem.com/download/cisdem-ocrwizard.dmg. Double click the dmg file to

mount it. A new finder window showing up the app file will appear, and then move it to

Applications folder from the window.

Activating Cisdem OCRWizard is a fairly easy task. You just need to launch the app first, tap

on the “Help” on the menu bar, and select the “Register Cisdem OCRWizard” from the list.

Once the registration window shows on the screen, you have to copy-n-paste your registration

code into the “Keycode” box, and then click “Register” button to confirm everything.

III. Application Operating

I. Adding Files

To add files to Cisdem OCRWizard:

1. Drop files to the start interface directly.

2. Click button, then select files from the pop-up window.

3. Drop files to the sidebar.

To delete multiple pages in the sidebar, you can select them using command + right click, and

then click or press delete.

II. Preparing for OCR

Before performing OCR, the file imported needs to be adjusted to a good quality for high

accurate results. The file quality (especially for scanned document and images) influences the

performance of OCR. If you have imported a blurred picture, which is unreadable, the OCR

engine can’t recognize its content properly. Beside the quality, you need to choose OCR

language according to the file, change the orientation of pages etc.

The toolbar in Prepare window gives you one-click access to many of the actions you’ll use

when preparing for OCR.

Rotate current page counterclockwise 90 degrees.

Rotate current page clockwise 90 degrees.

Rotate all pages counterclockwise 90 degrees.

Rotate all pages clockwise 90 degrees.

Select the portion of the page you want to keep. You can also enter value to the

blanks. Click OK to confirm your selection.

It provides the following tools: Brightness, Sharpness, Contrast, and Saturation.

You can also invert color by checking “Invert”.

Select the correct language. OCRWizard currently supports various

languages and more of them are on the way in future updates. If a given file’s contents are in

one language only, you just need to choose the corresponding option from the list; if they are

in multiple languages, please select “Choose Multiple Languages” from the list and selects

the ones you need. If you do not see the language that you need in the list, please select

“Choose Multiple Languages” and see whether you can find it there.

II. Processing Document

We have many scanned documents in our daily life, but they’re not editable and searchable.

OCRWizard can recognize the different contents in the scanned files and will help you

convert them to multiple editable formats.

i. Selecting Mode

Click on the toolbar, then select Document from the submenu.

ii. Recognizing

The app automatically marks every part of a loaded PDF or image differently based on the

content of each part. Texts would be marked in green; pictures would be marked in red; tables

would be marked in purple. Though this automatic marking tend to be rather accurate, when it

comes to documents of pictures with great complexity, there might be some error in that

regard, and manual adjustments therefore have to be made to have a more desirable outcome.

Please follow the instructions listed below to manually adjust the OCR:

Select one or multiple marked regions in one page by dragging a box round them.

Mark Texts.

Mark Images.

Mark Tables.

1. To delete a marked region, you can select it and press delete. To delete multiple of them

at one click, you can select all regions you want to delete, and then press delete.

2. To adjust the size of regions, you can select it, place the cursor on its border, and then

drag it to the size you want.

3. In a marked table regions, you can create a table by flowing instruction:

a. To add a table line, you can right click on the table region, choose “Add”, and select

“Add A Vertical Line” or “Add A Horizontal Line”.

b. To delete a table line, you can right click on the table region, choose “Delete”, and

then select “Delete the Line Left to Cursor”, “Delete the Line Right to Cursor”,

“Delete the Line Above Cursor”, or “Delete the Line Beneath Cursor”.

iii. Exporting

Click to export document to multiple formats, including PDF, RTFD, DOCX,

XLSX, PPTX, HTML, TEXT, ALTO, FB2, EPUB, ODT, PAGES, KEY, PNG, BMP, TIFF,

JPG, GIF.

You can select page range to export. Click Pages, select Range, and then import the pages

range to the blank.

For PDF format, you can select Compress image using MRC, Produce PDF/A compatible

document or Enable tagged PDF.

III. Processing Business Card

OCRWizard enables you to recognize business card so as to add it to Mac Contacts, or share

it with other people.

i. Selecting Mode

Click on the toolbar, then select Business Card from the submenu.

ii. Recognizing

After performing the OCR for the business card, the app will automatically create a contact

and fill its fields with the information recognized from the business card. You can check if

these fields are filled correctly, and rectify the mistakes manually.

iii. Sharing

Click the Share button on the contacts card to add it to Mac Contacts or share it by Mail,

Message and Airdrop.

iv. Exporting

Click to export the business card to vCard and CSV.

IV. Project

OCRWizard enables you to save a project for your current editing work. After you load files

to the app, it will create a project. You’ll see the title bar showing “Untitled”, which means

the project is not saved now.

i. Save a New Project

When you try to close the app, it will pop up a dialog and ask you whether save the changes

made to the “Untitled” document. You can click Save… to open next window, and then name

the project and choose a location to save it. You can also save the project on File menu by

clicking File > Save a Project. The project will be saved as .enproj format.

ii. Open a Saved Project

To open a Save project, click File > Open a Saved Project on menu bar, and then select a

saved project in the window that appears. To open a project you have worked with recently,

click File > Open a Recent Project on menu bar, and then select it on the submenu.

When you try to open other projects, the current project will be closed. You can save it first,

then open other projects.

V. Other Features

i. Merging Files

You can add multiple files to OCRWizard, then exporting them to one file.

1. Add multiple files to the app at a time, and then merge them to one file.

2. When you opened a file in the app, you can drop files to any position in sidebar. For

example, to insert a file after page 5 of the opened file, you can just drop the file after

page 5.

ii. Spliting Files

Click Export, choose a format, click Pages button, choose Range, and then enter the page

range you want to split.
