Cisco Prime Infrastructure Implementation and
Administration (PINFRA)
Course Overview: This exclusive course covers Cisco’s latest Network Management software Prime Infrastructure. Cisco
Prime Infrastructure is a converged solution taking components from Cisco Prime LAN Management
Solution (LMS) and Cisco Prime Network Control System (NCS) for comprehensive lifecycle management of
wired and wireless networks. This course covers the important aspects from the CWLMS and WMNGI
courses. This is the recommended training for anyone using Cisco Prime LMS or NCS with plans to migrate
to Prime Infrastructure.
Cisco Prime Infrastructure is the recommended upgrade path for Cisco Prime LMS and Cisco Prime NCS
users. While not a direct feature-to-feature upgrade for LMS, it supports core LMS-like functionality for
wired device management. The focus is to find the correct tools within the software to document the
network inventory, manage device configurations, control software updates, monitor performance,
troubleshoot faults, and simplify the deployment of new Cisco technologies.
Who will benefit from this course? Network administrators, managers, and technicians who need a more efficient way of managing and
maintaining the network infrastructure. Anyone who currently has Cisco WCS, NCS, LMS software and
plans to migrate towards the newer PRIME offering from Cisco will also find this course beneficial.
Prerequisites: Knowledge equivalent to taking the Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices (ICND) courses
Knowledge of basic Cisco IOS and Cisco Catalyst operating system commands
Basic knowledge of TCP/IP
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows
Basic Internet browser navigation skills
Basic e-mail usage skills
