Castaic, CACastaic, California is an unincorporated community located in the northern part of Los Angeles County, California. Many thousands of motorists pass through Castaic daily as they drive to or from Los Angeles on Interstate 5. Castaic Lake, a major trouist destination and anchor to the new development to Castaic is just off the Interstate, is one of the State Water Project’s largest recreational lakes and the terminal of its west branch. The site includes 29 miles of shoreline with the major attraction being the 425-foot tall Castaic Dam that separates its two bodies of water; a lower lake is for non-power boating and canoeing and upper lake is for sailing, power boating, water and jet skiing, and fishing. The lake is stocked with bass, trout and catfish.

A Grand opening is coming to the new ±250,000 SF Castaic High school, making it one of the largest ever built in Los Angeles County. Once complete, the total 200-acre site will house 58 acres of campus facilities and infrastructure. The $126 million project broke ground in January of 2017 and is scheduled to open in August 2019.

On the heels of the education infrastructure being upgraded, Castaic’s growth multiple is expanding by way of phase one of the “Northlake Specific Plan Project” which includes building 288 single-family homes, 17 apartment buildings containing 1,341 dwelling units, and six senior “multi-family lots” that create 345 dwelling units for seniors. Approval to break ground on 720 acres is just the beginning of the total 1,330 Acre Northlake residential project that has been approved by Los Angeles County.
