From the Desk of Sister Gerri
I hope you had an enjoyable Easter
Sunday. We will be in the Easter season for
the next several weeks up to Pentecost. Our
weekend scripture readings take on a new
light as we listen and reflect upon the messages of how
our Catholic church developed after the resurrection. It
took some time for the apostles to figure this all out, and
then to share their inspirations in order to carry out the
teachings they heard from Jesus. They are encourage-
ment for all of us to share what we have been given.
That is, we too need to live the teachings of Jesus in
carrying on the truth and living as missionaries by en-
couraging others to come back to the Church. Jesus was
clear in what He said about sharing. He let us know that
we are to believe in Him, that we can be forgiven, and
that one day we will enter eternal life with Him and all
those who have gone before us.

FUN & FAITH
JULY 16 - JULY 20, 2018
8:30 am - 11:30 am SHIPWRECKED ~ RESCUED BY JESUS!
Each year, Fun & Faith features a different theme with exciting ways for kids to learn about Jesus, experience God's love and have a blast with friends. This summer, kids will venture onto an uncharted tropical island for a week of surprising adventures, incredible music, tropical treats, amazing experiments, creative games, and new friends. Fun & Faith is held at St. James Parish and is open to all children ages 4½ to 11 (or entering 5th grade) The cost per child is $20 until June 18. Registration papers were distributed to all students before RE classes ended. In order to run a successful program, we need middle school, high school, and adult volunteers. No experience necessary! Come with the kids for an amazing week! For more information about Fun & Faith, or to volunteer, contact LeaAnn Allen at [email protected].
DENMARK/MARIBEL COMMUNITY CUPBOARD Our local pantries are in the process of reorganizing under the leadership of local churches and other civic organiza-tions. They are looking for volunteers to help out in many different areas. For more information, or to volunteer, con-tact Mary Krueger at 863-5256, or Diane Steinberger at 863-8388. Complete information about their volunteer needs is posted on our website, Circle-of-Faith.org.
2018 BISHOP’S APPEAL “Why do we need to have this fundraising appeal every year? Can’t we do without this level of bureaucracy? Our parishes can handle everything we need on our own.” If this is your sentiment concerning the Bishop’s Appeal, then you need to read the text of the witness talk given at St. James Parish this weekend. You will be convinced that our Circle of Faith does not exist in a bubble by itself. We do absolutely need the diocese to survive. Read this mes-sage on St. James homepage of our website, Circle-of-Faith.org. Then, find a way to make your donation today.
ST. MARY FURNACE UPDATE Our old furnace has been replaced. If anyone would like to donate toward the cost of the new unit, please put your contribution in the collection basket marked “Furnace.”
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SCHOLARSHIP The Denmark Knights of Columbus will award two scholarships of up to $500 each to two high school seniors who give their time, talent and treasure to the church. Information and applications are posted on Denmark High School’s website, and are due April 15.
THRIVENT DONATES TO ST. JAMES We are pleased to announce that on behalf of a parish fam-ily, our parish has received over $1,200 recently in charita-ble grant funding from Thrivent Financial. The money was used to purchase a new ministry resource for Baptism fol-low-up, and partly to cover Mardi Gras expenses. By direct-ing Choice Dollars®, eligible Thrivent members can recom-mend a nonprofit organization that they feel should receive charitable funding. If you have Choice Dollars available, please consider directing them to St. James Parish. For more information, please call Pam Mathis at (920)366-1034. SAVE OUR STEEPLE UPDATE Over the summer and into the fall of 2017, the steeple at St. James Church underwent major repairs. New venting louvers, tuck pointing, replacement of rotted wood and a new entry hatch and ladder cost a total of $106,101.59. We initiated a Save Our Steeple campaign to solicit donations for the necessary work, which to date, amounts to $34,683.32. Thank you to all the parishioners and friends of the parish who contributed! For those who have not had an opportunity to donate yet, we are still ac-cepting contributions. You may drop a check in the collec-tion basket at Mass, or mail to the parish office. Please add “Steeple” to the memo line.

Stewardship Appreciation
Circle of Faith: Thank you to everyone who made our Holy Week and Easter liturgies so meaningful and beauti-ful. It truly is the most important Church celebration of the year. May God bestow special blessings upon all those who worked behind the scenes and those who ministered at the services.
St. James: A shout out to the Men’s Club for using some of their breakfast profit to purchase a couple of hand vac-uums: one for the parish center and one for the church. They’re great for quick pick-ups not requiring the vacuum cleaner!
St. Joseph: We are grateful to the couple who gave us a purple flag to display outside during the Lenten season.
All Saints: A huge THANK YOU to Richard Jandrin and his grandkids for removing the unusable pianos in the church and school basements. Your time and muscle are so much appreciated!
St. James: Thank you to Dan Gray and Jim Knickelbine for setting up the live remote broadcast of the Easter Sun-day Mass in the parish hall. The overflow crowd was able to participate in Mass in a prayerful, comfortable setting.
HOLY LAND PILGRIMAGE You are invited to join Father Kevin on a Holy Land Pilgrimage for the Circle of Faith Parishes from May 16 - 26, 2018.
