  • Capitol Records Tower

    ❖The Capitol Records is used for

    studio sessions and recording music

    albums.

    ❖It is a 13th story earthquake resistant

    tower and the world's

    first circular office building.

    ❖On top of the tower there is a

    blinking light that spells out

    "Hollywood" in Morse Code.

  • Colosseum

    ❖ The Colosseum also called Flavian

    Amphititheatre, was officially dedicated in 80 CE

    with a ceremony of 100 days of games.

    ❖ The Colosseum can seat about 50,000 spectators

    and had a massive retractible velarium (awning)

    so they can be shielded from the sun.

    ❖ The structure was damaged by lightning,

    earthquakes, and more severly vandalism, all the

    marble seats and decorative disappearing.

  • Radcliffe Camera

    ❖Radcliffe Camera, a circular library, is

    located in the center of Oxford

    University, taking 12 years (1737-1749)

    to build.

    ❖The library holds about 600,000 books in

    underground rooms beneath Radcliffe

    Square and has 2 reading rooms.

    ❖For the public, the only way to access the

    inside of Radcliffe Camera is through an

    extended tour.

  • Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben)

    ❖ When built Big Ben was the largest most accurate

    4-faced striking and chiming clock in the entire

    world.

    ❖ Big Ben was once known as Clock Tower, but the

    name was changed to Elizabeth Tower in 2012, a

    tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on her diamond

    jubilee year.

    ❖ Big Ben still using its Victorian mechanisms is

    famous for its reliability, however during World

    War I Big Ben went dark after it was bombed, it

    recovered.

    ❖ Aldar Headquarters symbolizes unity, stability,

    infinity, and completeness, it possess calmness

    and ideal beauty as well as has expressive power,

    on behalf of Abu Dhabi.

    ❖ The architecture of the structure was inspired by

    the clam shell which has a significant meaning for

    Abu Dhabi with their seafaring heritage.

    ❖ Aldar Headquarters is one of the first eco-

    friendly official buildings in Abu Dhabi.

  • Guangzhou Circle

    ❖ The Guangzhou Circle, located in China, is the world's

    tallest circular building.

    ❖ The structure resembles a circular artifact from ancient

    Chinese history that represents heaven, and when

    reflected on water the structure creates a figure 8, a

    number in Chinese culture representing prosperity and

    infinity.

    ❖ It is the home of the World's largest trading center for

    raw plastic materials, Guangdong Plastic Exchange.
