The CinemathequeManila theatre is a
101-seater with an LCDprojector. By early 2016, it will
have DCP projection capabilities.
It aims to serve and enrich the
lm-going public by screeningheritage and contemporaryFilipino lms and the best of
foreign cinema through itspartners in the Film Cultural
Exchange Program and FestivalPartnership Program.
The Philippine cinematheque
was born out of the need for analternative and accessible venue
for exhibiting Filipino and worldcinema. Joining those in Baguio,
Iloilo, Davao, and Zamboangathe Cinematheque Manila aim
to elevate our national identity
and heritage while furtheringexposure and appreciation
for cinema, as the institutiondedicated to preserving andenriching the lm culture in thPhilippines.

The Museo ng Pelikulang Pilipino is dedicatedto preserving and exhibiting artifacts of thecinematic heritage of the Philippines, which hasone of the oldest lm cultures in Asia.
The object-based lm museum gives specialfocus to six Filipino directors who deeply
impacted the development of cinema in thecountry: Jose Nepomuceno, Manuel Conde,Gerardo de Leon, Lamberto Avellana, IshmaelBernal, and Lino Brocka. Included in the exhibitare statues of the directors, personal effects,and memorabilia, all of which are accompaniedby audio-visual historical biographies.

the National Film Archives of thePhilippines (NFAP) is committedpreserving our lm history with tresponsible documentation and
archiving of our local lms in alltheir various formats.
In response to the loss of mucof our cinematic heritage, varioustate and private stakeholdersare actively searching for ourlocal audio-visual artifacts.The NFAP heads the collection,documentation and managemenof these elements, from lmsto television programs to soundrecordings.

With the installation of the Golden Eye 4and its Phoenix Rene toolset softwaresystem in early 2016, the digitization of theNFAP’s holdings increases the archive’saccessibility. The lm scanner is capableof scanning multiple lm formats from8mm to 70mm and any format in between,
with an output of digital formats rangingfrom SD to 4K.
The Phoenix rene toolset, on the otherhand, is high-end software for digitallyrestoring lms. It has automatic, semi-

Film advocates and industry leaders from Manilaand beyond gather together in the classroomsat the Cinematheque Centre Manila to share
their knowledge about lm and production.Through its classroom activities, Cinematheque
Manila broadens lm literacy and enriches theeducation of future lm professionals by hostingtalks, workshops, and symposiums on directing,scriptwriting, editing, cinematography, and allother aspects of lmmaking. The FILM ASEANSystems Training (F.A.S.T.) programs are held in theCinematheque classrooms.

The Cinematheque Centre Manila houses theCinematheque Manila Theater, the Museo ngPelikulang Pilipino, ofces of the National FilmArchives of the Philippines, the FILM ASEANKnowledge Management Center, and theofces of the Film Development Council of thePhilippines (FDCP), as well as the supplementaCinematheque Café, souvenir shop, andclassrooms.
The Cinematheque Centre Manila aims tobe a hub for the overall development of thecommunity’s education and understanding
towards Filipino and international lm culture. Asuch, lm screenings, workshops, symposiumsand other events will strive to empower futuregenerations of Filipino lmmakers.
The Film ASEAN Knowledge ManagementCenter, which includes the FILM ASEANlibrary and the FILM ASEAN SystemsTraining classrooms, will help develop lmand audiovisuals in the region. Found in theCinematheque Centre Manila is also the NationFilm Archives of the Philippines which ismandated to preserve and restore the country’slm heritage, and ensure proper archivingthrough various formats.
