Best And Worst Movie-Time Snacks
Mystery, horror, romance, thriller! You go to movies to have fun watching the big
screen but many a times theatre threats ruin your night-all because you can’t come
up with smart snack time while enjoying a movie at PVR Saket or anywhere else.
There is certainly no denying to the fact that whenever you go out to watch a
movie, you munch on several junk foods and add unwanted kilos to your already
struggling waist line.
Here is what you should pick and skip when out for a flick:
Drinks
Best Drinks
Without doubt this is the best drink one should have whether in movie hall or when
dining in the Delhi’s best restaurant . Several people overlook the benefits of H2O in
the dark theatre and rather buy giant cups of fountain soda as is the favourite
tradition amongst the movie goers. Fortunately bottled water is available in all
theatres or you can simply have plain water from the soda machine itself.
For those who want variety and pizzaz, try having unsweetened ice tea or zero-
calorie flavoured water.
Worst Drinks
Though the sizes vary in chain, but the large soda cups can have even up to 54
ounces. Soda served in theatres contains something between 384 and 696 calories
and 96 to 174 grams of sugar.
Those who believe that they are doing their bit by asking for diet soda in PVR Saket
or anywhere else are also mistaken. Study reveals that people consuming diet sodas
have a tendency to be obese. Artificial sweeteners are also the reason that may
people develop diabetes and related health problems. However even if you are
tempted, take the lowest possible splurge of these while making it an occasional
treat.
Popcorn
Best Popcorn
Pick the smallest portion of popcorns and go easy on the salt and toppings. Avoid
popcorns with real butter also because after movie what follows is a treat in the
Delhi’s best restaurant or across. The smallest portion of popcorn contains 670
calorie and 34 g of saturated fats.
Worst Popcorn
Several tests conducted by known agencies found that the nutritional numbers
were higher than advertised for most of the products that were tested. Amongst
these were popcorns which contain up to 60 g of saturated fats. Every tablespoon of
buttery topping adds some 130 calories more to the already high in number
calories.
Snacks
Bavarian Pretzel contains 480 calories which is less than those served in popcorns
and candy boxes. Spilt it with a friend and have these without dipping these into
extra cheese or dipping sauce.
