Cincinnati Enquirer
Start with the Excel workbook (spreadsheet) Cincinnati Enquirer - start.xlsx.
The Cincinnati Enquirer, in its Sunday business supplement, reported that the mean number of hours worked per week by those employed full time is 43.9 with a population standard deviation of 6.05 hours. A sample of 25 will be examined next week.
Use this information to determine the following questions based on sampled means:
a. What is the standard error of the mean in this experiment? b. What is the probability that the sample mean of full time employees worked more than 45 hours a
week? c. What is the probability that the sample mean of full time employees worked less than 40 hours a week? d. What is the probability that the sample mean of full time employees worked between 38 and 44 hours a
week?
NOTE: In order to receive credit for this problem, you must show your work and you must use the appropriate formulas in Excel to answer the questions. Format all percentages as a percentage with 2 decimal places (i.e. 78.29%). Show all other numbers with 3 decimal places.
