You must be on current maintenance to receive this release.
You MUST have X6 already installed on your system to install this up-
date. Save the .exe to your desktop. After downloading, double click to
launch the installer and follow the prompts.
This is NOT a standalone installation, it will install right on top of your
current X6 installation.

Mastercam X6 Now Certified for Autodesk Inventor 2013
Mastercam CAD/CAM software, announces that
Mastercam X6 has been certified for Autodesk Inventor
2013 3D mechanical design software under the Autodesk
Inventor Certified Applications Program. Digital
Prototyping with Autodesk Inventor software gives
manufacturers the ability to digitally design, visualize, and
simulate how a product will work under real world
conditions before it is built, which helps reduce cost and
increase efficiency. To be certified, the product must meet
certain guidelines and demonstrate a high level of quality as well as compatibility
with Autodesk Inventor software. Certification is given only after the product has
been tested and approved.
Mastercam X6 has a direct add-in for Autodesk Inventor, a great way to boost pro-
ductivity. Free to the Mastercam and Autodesk communities, Mastercam Direct en-
ables users to open a model in Mastercam while in an Inventor session, and then up-
date toolpaths to reflect changes to the model. Mastercam X6 is able to read in native
Inventor files (.IPT and .IAM) for design purposes and toolpath generation.

2D HST Blend Mill Compensation
Cutter compensation options are now available in 2D HST Blend Mill
toolpaths. The options include left, right, inside, and outside. Tip
compensation and stock to leave on walls are also supported.
What’s New In Mastercam - 2D Enhancement
2D HST Dynamic Toolpath Improvements The 2D HST Dynamic toolpaths (Core, Area, Rest, and Contour) include several en-
hancements in Mastercam X6:
Variable Toolpath Radius
The 2D HST Dynamic toolpaths currently use the toolpath radius value as a hard value
for both arc on/off motion and sharp corner smoothing. At times, the tool cannot fit
into narrow channels or between islands due to the toolpath radius size. Instead of us-
ing a smaller toolpath radius to fit into these areas, which limits the efficiency of the
arc on/off motion, these toolpaths now automatically adjust the toolpath radius in these
areas. This allows the tool to fit into tight areas and mill deeper in sharp corners. You
can enter a minimum toolpath radius on the Cut Parameters page.

What’s New In Mastercam - 2D Enhancement
Zigzag Motion Support
With this new feature, you can now use zigzag toolpath motion for open passes to op-
timize your dynamic toolpaths. The toolpaths use the toolpath radius to smoothly exit
and enter material during direction changes.
When machining closed contours, the toolpath defaults to climb milling.
Note: This change does not apply to Dynamic Contour toolpaths.
Outside Approach Control
Dynamic Facing, Core, and Contour toolpaths now include the ability to specify
which side of the block the tool approaches from. You can use this functionality to
avoid over-travel conditions when large parts might be taking up most of the travel in
one direction.
The following pictures
