WHERE WE STARTED FROM AND MEMBERSHIP REFORM Why?

• To support our vision for CIH to be the first port of call for people involved in the sector

• To identify any barriers to people becoming members of CIH

• To ensure that CIH continues to be relevant to future members and employers

KEY FINDINGS

• grading structure was too complicated• need to examine how we charge for

membership – reverse loyalty• benefits weren’t valued – not attractive • access to higher grades of membership

was felt to be too restrictive

MEMBER RECOGNITION - FELLOW • Existing CIH Fellow members can choose

to use the new designation CIH Chartered Member or CIHCM. Or alternatively can continue to use FCIH

• Any member who became a CIH Corporate member on or before the 31.12.2011 is eligible to continue to work towards and apply for Fellowship. The final date for applications to Fellowship is 31.12.2014

EXPERIENTIAL ROUTE CHARTERED MEMBERSHIP

• Need to find a way of recognising achievement through experience not just through academic qualification.

• Need to maintain standards but be accessible• Competency route:

• 360 degree questionnaire• CPD and business impact submission• Interview

• Piloted with 20 senior applicants who would normally follow the Direct Final route.
