Terms & Conditions

• Please do not send any payment with this booking you will be invoiced before the event once we receive your booking

• All cancellations must be made in writing. Once a booking has been made, there will be an administration charge of £50 per delegate for cancellation of that booking. If you cancel within 10 working days you will be charged the full fee.

• If you make a delegate name change against your original booking there will be an admin charge of £30 + VAT per delegate.

• If, at the time of booking, you do not know the names of delegates, please let us have names no later than two weeks before the event.

• Please note that the CIH cannot guarantee that delegates’ names will be printed on the delegate list and a badge will be produced, if bookings are received within 10 working days of an event.

• Please keep a photocopy of this form for your records, if possible.

• CIH Events will not be liable for reimbursing delegate fees if delegates are not able to attend an event due to circumstances out of the CIH’s reasonable control including, but not limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, transport strikes, closures or delays or any other Force Majeure or Act of God.

• This booking is subject to the usual CIH Terms & Conditions.

• Joining instructions will be sent out 5 working days before the event. If you do not receive your JI’s please call the events team on 024 7685 1722. If you decide not to attend an event because you have not received JI’s you will not be eligible for a refund.

• Purchase order numbers are required at the time of booking if your organisation requires you to provide one. Failure to do so or the provision of an incorrect PO number will not invalidate our payment terms.

Limitation of Liability

• The Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) accepts responsibility for accident, injury or loss suffered whilst attending this event, if it is directly due to negligence on our part.

• Delegates are responsible for taking care of their own property.

• CIH accepts no responsibility for any loss incurred whilst using material or information gained at this event.

Cancellation of Events

• CIH may have to cancel an event. In this case, we will return any payments received in advance. We will not refund any other costs you may incur as a result of this cancellation.

A2 SHAPE: improving standards – size matters Royal Institute of British Architects Sarah Davis, senior policy and practice officer, CIH More than 50% of new homes home built today are not big enough for the people buying and living in them. Hear from the RIBA on their HomeWise campaign and the CIH on their SHAPE strategy to learn how we can affect the future of house building to allow a comfortable, suitable home for all Londoners.

Kore Mason, programme manager, Greater London Authority Making London’s homes more energy efficient not only cuts carbon emissions, it also reduces energy bills, helps to tackle fuel poverty and improves health. Hear about how the Mayor of London’s award-winning RE:NEW programme is providing vital support to social landlords and others to retrofit existing homes, contributing to the Mayor’s ambitious aim for the capital to be a zero carbon city by 2050.

A1 SHAPE: Increase affordability – shared ownership and other models for Londoners Angela Epps, development director, Peabody Housing Association It is widely assumed that housing across London is expensive, however models being established on a regular basis are attempting to challenge the status quo. Peabody will discuss the possibilities in making London a more affordable city, including shared ownership and other popular models.

A2 SHAPE: improving standards – upskill the sector Joseph Kilroy, policy officer, The Royal Town Planning Institute There has been a 46% reduction in national resources for planning and development teams which is putting a strain on how to effectively use space and get the best housing results. The Royal Town Planning Institute is developing a scheme focusing on best practice in housing delivery which they will share with delegates to upskill the entire sector.

Vicky Pryce, Economist In the wake of the ‘Brexit’ vote, there has been growing discussion about London’s contribution to the wider UK economy and whether we should go it alone. About the eventThe CIH London Housing Summit will offer housing professionals from across the capital the opportunity to keep ahead with the latest knowledge from the industry and share information with peers who are faced with similar challenges.

This event will examine London’s affordability and supply crisis and discover solutions to the growing problem. In the run up to the mayoral election Sadiq Khan based a great deal of his platform on providing affordable housing to all Londoners. We will be examining his promises to see if they bear scrutiny and also reminding delegates that they as housing professionals play a crucial role in ensuring that social housing remains a priority issue for the newly elected Mayor.

Master classes will discuss topics including homelessness, upskilling the sector, the debate around housing standards and more.

These issues are covered in our SHAPE document, which will be debated in great detail throughout the day.
