• Describe the characteristics of an Effective Teacher

• Discuss the decision-making processes in teaching

• Discuss professional teaching standards

• Identify effective classroom practices

• Describe the decision-making that occurs in the classroom.

The “Star” Teacher1. In groups of 4 identify six skills of

a Quality Teacher.2. Write one skill per body part

using the following questions as guides.– What kind of teacher do students need?– What are the characteristics of that

teacher who is going to promote increased student achievement for all students?

– What are the skills necessary to be a successful teacher in the 21st Century?

3. Be prepared to report out.
