Minutes:

The Minutes of the lest meeting of the Council heldon December 7th 1970, which had been circularised tomembers, were confirmed and nee signed by theOhs irtnan,

Snow Clearing: A letter was reed from the County Surveyor expressingregret that Mr, Carr was unwilling to accept respon-

sibility for snow clearing as in prevous years andsuggesting a meeting between the Area Surveyor andMr. Carr and representatives of the Parish Council toresolve any difficulties which had arisen in thisconnexion.

Councillor Mr. Carr and vise Chairmanagreed to attend such a meeting and the Clark wasasked to make the necessary arrangements.

Further reference was made to trees growing near thetrees:

hrbridge in Brook Lane where it was said a possibledanger to children climbing the tress existed fromoverhead cables and the Clark was aaketd to approachthe Area Surveyor again with a request for the treesto be cut down.

Surveyor that verges on the higharn side of the A.45repairs:

Estimates

The Council gave consideration to estimates of►̂ 1971-72;

expenditure for the financial year to end on the 31stMarch 1972 and in particular to further improvementsin street lighting and also to the salary of theClerk. After some discussion it was.deoided toprovide an amount 'of 290.00 for three additional streetlamps in positions to be decided later and to increasethe salary of the Clerk from X12.00 to a2C. Q0 peryear Its from 1st April 1970.The Clark stated that he anticipated a balance infavour of the Council of £80.00 at the end of March1971.

Derelict oars:

The Parish Council was requested to call the attentionof the appropriate Authority to a nuisance beingcaused by the storing of derelict oars behind the Star& Garter public houses.

The Clerk submitted particulars of the AnnualMeeting of the North m tonahire Association ofPariah Councils to be hold at Northampton onSaturday, October 23rd 1971.

Next Meetings

No date was find for the next meeting of the Councilthe Chairman stating that it may be desirable for aSpecial Meeting to be hold within the usual interval.It was decided to gall the attention of the AreaSurveyor to the following highway complaints:

Unsatisfaotory cutting of grass verges partics -ularly on the Raunds Road.

Loose r .vc , and bleeding of tar followingspraying of the A.15 road between the village andthe Golf Course.

A broken bridge on the Bidwell footpath.Potholes in various piacees.Obstruction of the kissing gate at the entrance

to the public footpath near the Church.Roadside drains blocked with rubbish.Reinstatement of trench following erection of

new street lamp at Caldeoott.The necessaity for a footpath on the Raunds

Road especially from the green to Pretoria Cottages.Snow Clering:

The Clerk was asked to arranges meeting between theArea Surveyor, the Chairman of the Council andCounoillor Carr to discuss highway complaints andto clarify the position regarding arrangements foremergency snow clearing,

Speed Limits:

The Clark was asked to apply to the County Surveyorfor an extension of the 30mph speed limit inCsldeoott to the new street lamp and also for theimposition of a general mph limit through thevillage.

It was also wanted that the assist-sacs of the Road Safety Officer bd invited in thismatter.
