Whittats (Clerk) Minutes: The Minutes of the lest meeting of the Council held on December 7th 1970, which had been circularised to members, were confirmed and nee signed by the Ohs irtnan, Snow Clearing: A letter was reed from the County Surveyor expressing regret that Mr, Carr was unwilling to accept respon- sibility for snow clearing as in prevous years and suggesting a meeting between the Area Surveyor and Mr. Carr and representatives of the Parish Council to resolve any difficulties which had arisen in this connexion. Councillor Mr. Carr and vise Chairman agreed to attend such a meeting and the Clark was asked to make the necessary arrangements. • s Brookside. Further reference was made to trees growing near the trees: hr bridge in Brook Lane where it was said a possible danger to children climbing the tress existed from overhead cables and the Clark was aaketd to approach the Area Surveyor again with a request for the trees to be cut down. The Parish Council was requested to call the attentionof the appropriate Authority to a nuisance beingcaused by the storing of derelict oars behind the Star& Garter public houses.

No date was find for the next meeting of the Councilthe Chairman stating that it may be desirable for aSpecial Meeting to be hold within the usual interval.It was decided to gall the attention of the AreaSurveyor to the following highway complaints:

Unsatisfaotory cutting of grass verges partics -ularly on the Raunds Road.

Loose r .vc , and bleeding of tar followingspraying of the A.15 road between the village andthe Golf Course.

A broken bridge on the Bidwell footpath.Potholes in various piacees.Obstruction of the kissing gate at the entrance

to the public footpath near the Church.Roadside drains blocked with rubbish.Reinstatement of trench following erection of

new street lamp at Caldeoott.The necessaity for a footpath on the Raunds

Road especially from the green to Pretoria Cottages.Snow Clering:

The Clerk was asked to arranges meeting between theArea Surveyor, the Chairman of the Council andCounoillor Carr to discuss highway complaints andto clarify the position regarding arrangements foremergency snow clearing,

Speed Limits:

The Clark was asked to apply to the County Surveyorfor an extension of the 30mph speed limit inCsldeoott to the new street lamp and also for theimposition of a general mph limit through thevillage.

It was also wanted that the assist-sacs of the Road Safety Officer bd invited in thismatter.
