Divine Mercy Sunday St. Anthony/St. Joseph Church, located at 228 S. Main Street, Herkimer, will sponsor this year's county-wide celebration for the Feast of the Divine Mercy on Sun-day, April 8th. The afternoon event will begin at 2 p.m. with Eucharistic Adoration and confessions. Several priests will be on hand to hear confessions. The rosary will be recited at 2:15 p.m. At 3 p.m., the Hour of Mercy, the Chaplet will be recited and conclude with Benediction; at 3:30 p.m. mass will be celebrated, with an opportunity for participants to make or renew their Act Consecration to Merciful Love. After mass, a first-class relic of St. Faustina will be available for venera-tion. All are invited to participate in this extraordinary occasion of grace, for the Lord told St. Faustina con-cerning the Feast of Mercy: "The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall ob-tain complete forgiveness of sins and punish-ment." Come and bring a friend!
Adore My Mercy
Meditation: Jesus looked at me and said, Souls perish in spite of My bitter Passion. I am giving them the last hope of salvation; that is, the Feast of My Mercy. If they will not adore My mercy, they will perish for all eternity. Secretary of My mercy, write, tell souls about this great mercy of Mine, because the awful day, the day of My justice, is near (Diary, 965).
My Prayer Response: Thank You, Jesus, for Your stern warning about Your gift of the Feast of Mercy. By a sovereign act of Your Mercy, draw mankind to adore Your great mercy — lest they per-ish for all eternity. Have mercy, O Lord!
A Shelter for All Souls
Meditation: On one occasion, I heard these words: My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I de-sire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the Fount of My Mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall ob-tain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment (Diary, 699). My Prayer Response: Lord Jesus, Thank You for the Feast of Mercy as a shelter for all souls, especially for poor sinners. May I prepare with confident faith to receive the graces You promise for us on that day. I want to plunge into the ocean of Your graces.

The Divine Mercy Promise
To receive the ocean of graces the Lord promised
on Divine Mercy Sunday, the only condition is to re-
ceive Holy Communion worthily on that day by mak-
ing a good confession in preparation and living in
such a way that you remain in the state of grace to be
able to receive that Holy Communion with great trust
in His Divine Mercy. Through the promise to grant
complete forgiveness of sins and punishment on the
Feast of Mercy, our Lord emphasizes the value of
Confession and Communion as miracles of mercy.
