At the beginning of the month, I traveled with the faculty and students on our 3rd annual Independent Baptist College choir tour. In one week, we traveled over 1200 miles, visiting a different church each day (2 on Sunday). It was encouraging to see good attendances at each service, and there was indication that several young people are interested in serving the Lord with their lives. Upon returning home, I found myself physi- cally exhausted, but spiritually recharged. The first graduation of the Independent Baptist College of Romania was a wonderful blessing; and during the Bible Conference associated with it, we met several prospective first-year students for next year. There were some financial difficulties in May, especially when we learned that our rent was increased 40% to a cost of about $850 a month for an average of 7 days usage per month. (And that was still one of the cheapest conference rooms available in the city.) After hunting for a couple of weeks, it seemed as if we would have to just stay where we were. But one Saturday morning before going out soul-winning, I prayed that the Lord would open a door for us to have a place of our own. As I knocked doors with Marcel, our song leader, we came upon a nice complex that had space for rent. To make a long story short, we were respectfully received, and now have a place of our own full-time for a little more than half the cost of the other place. They have offered us an even larger area that will be available in the fall which will more than double the area, but for about the same price. Even more exciting is the fact that we had 2 first time visitors that came to the first service in the new location! We have a few items that we need to purchase, such as: 50 chairs, tables, white boards and a pulpit. Please pray for these needs. NOTE: We have already talked to the Lord about these specific needs and other burdens that we have; so please refer to Him for direction as to how you might help us. (1 Peter 5:7) Summer Schedule—Now that the college year is over, we are able to devote the full week to the work in Ti- misoara for doorknocking and discipleship. We are praying and planning for summer events like Vacation Bible School, children's Bible clubs, youth camps and evangelistic efforts. For the first 3 weeks of June, I have preached and taught in Romanian; since my translator has been out of town. It has been a challenge, but it has also given me much more con- fidence in everyday conversation and door-to-door witness- ing. Next week we will help another missionary, who is on a short furlough, with their VBS in a small village. They usu- ally average between 60-80 in attendance; so we will be busy. In July, our sending church will fly my wife and I back to California to participate in the 20th Anniversary Conference of the Lancaster Baptist Church. Since Darci remains at West Coast Baptist College for work toward next year's school bill, this will also give us opportunity to spend some special time with her. When we return in the middle of the month, we will also be bringing 2 young ladies from WCBC to work with us for about a month. John is our church pianist and is really developing in his talents and ministry abilities. Since he is done with his school work for the year, he is often my soul-winning part- ner through the week . She does the garden- ing, housecleaning, laundry, cooking (both for home and weekly church lunches), planning children's activities and ladies' events. Dear Prayer Partners,

BLOSSOMS OF MAY— The month of May was filled with many important and wonderful events. Upon returning home, I found myself physi-cally exhausted, but spiritually recharged.

(And that was still one of the cheapest conference rooms available in the city.)

After hunting for a couple of weeks, it seemed as if we would have to just stay where we were. But one Saturday morning before going out soul-winning, I prayed that the Lord would open a door for us to have a place of our own. As I knocked doors with Marcel, our song leader, we came upon a nice complex that had space for rent.
