THE PIVOTAL PLAYERS

Bishop Robert Barron continues his journey around the world to explore a handful of saints, artists, mystics, and scholars who not only shaped the life of the Church but changed the course of Western civilization. Join us for Bishop Barron’s CATHOLICISM: The Pivotal Players, Mon-day evenings at 6:30 p.m. starting on Sept. 18th, or Tues-day mornings at 9:30 a.m. starting Sept. 19th. Call the Parish Office (352-8748) to register. Please register before Sept. 8th in order to have a Participant Packet (cost, $25).

A SLIGHT CHANGE IN CONFESSION SCHEDULE

We are fortunate to have the opportunity for confession every weekday morning, Mon-Fri, before the 7:00 a.m. Mass. That will continue, but instead of the 6:45-6:55 a.m. time slot, confessions will be heard from 6:30 to 6:45 so Fr. Joseph can have time to prepare for the 7:00 a.m. Mass.

FAMILY FORMATION A Whole Family Approach to

Learning and Living the Catholic Faith

The Family Formation Program at Holy Cross serves families with children in Grades K-6. It is a faith formation opportunity for the entire family. Families are supported and encouraged in their efforts to pray, worship, and grow in faith together as a Catholic family.

For families whose children are not enrolled in a Catholic school, Family Formation fulfills the need for religious education and sacramental preparation. However, all families with children in grades K-6 are invited to come and be part of the Family Formation community.

For more information or if you would like to register for this year, please contact Cindy Howie at 352-8748. Deadline for registration is Monday, August 14th.

CHILDREN’S RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

THE CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is available at Holy Cross. It is an approach to the religious formation of children that is rooted in the Bible, the liturgy of the Church, and the educational principles of Maria Montessori. The children come to an ’atrium’ where they are given the opportunity to independently discover the beauty of the Catholic faith and their role as a part of the body of Christ.

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is offered for preschool children. If you are interested in having your preschooler participate in this exceptional program, please call Cindy Howie at 352-8748.

1ST, 2ND, AND 3RD YEAR CONFIRMATION CLASSES

Registration forms can be sent to you, or pick one up at the Parish Office. Please return registration forms to the Parish Office by Monday, August 14th. For more information please call the Parish Office at 352-8748.

GOING ON VACATION? DON’T FORGET ABOUT US

Would you find it helpful to have your of-ferings debited directly from your bank account or credit card as you probably do with other obligations? Holy Cross Church offers electronic giving for those of you who wish to have contributions transferred electronically to the church’s account.

If you have plans to travel this summer, Online Giving gives you a convenient way to keep up with your intended offer-ings. To get started, simply visit Holy Cross’ web page at www.holycrosscatholic.org, click on the Online Giving logo, establish your credentials, and pick one of the possible funds. It is easy, and convenient, and safe.

WE HAVE REACHED OUR ADA GOAL!

Thanks to the generosity of many parishioners, we have reached our goal of $103,983! Thank

you! If you have not made a gift or responded to the ADA, you can still do so today. There are pledge cards at the back of the church and in the Parish Office.

Don’t forget: every dollar raised above our goal will be re-turned to our parish to help with the many needs of our parish and school. Again, a big THANK YOU to our gener-ous parishioners!

A WORD FROM JOY

Thank you, St. Vincent de Paul members, for helping our families with food and good cheer! Shout out to Julianne who goes the extra mile to have our families have food, toiletries, and detergent. Thanks to a parishioner who do-nated toys and tonka trucks!

We delivered lots of diapers, blankets, and toys. We helped a family get their plates/registration for their car, and we will be buying a year-long bus pass for one of our Moms.

Thank you for your prayers and donations! God bless you!

Interested in helping the poor in our midst? Contact Joy at 359-8406 for more information. And God bless you for wanting to help families in need.
