Gospel: luke 20; 27-38 or 20; 27, 34-38 In this reading from the Gospel of Luke, some experts in the Jewish religion try to trap Jesus. They refuse to believe in the resurrection of the dead. We can see they did not agree with Jesus. To help them go beyond their concerns about matrimony and inheritance, Jesus tells them that in the next life they do not have to get married. All our relations are centered in God. 1.) Can you imagine a resurrected life where people won't be divided, but where they will live in harmony with God and each other? How can you help those on earth and those in heaven?

Pastor’s Message: People Share Their Faith (A welcoming Family) ” The Parish is called to be a welcoming family where Parishioners become aware of being people of God. Some of us are fortunate to be part of such a Parish. Others have experienced such a Parish while visiting family or friends. This kind of Parish community makes people feel welcome and val-ued. Members recognize that their parish provides a context in which life is lived, all are loved, and in which they can discern their purpose in the world. Their experience of God and each other impels them to evangelize, to share the Good News with others. They have hope that goes beyond mere reason, and their hope is contagious. I know that this description of a parish family sounds idealistic, and for many of us, it is just that. Describing such a parish provides a vision of what a true community can be, what a community should be. Reflection / Discussion 1. How are people encouraged to be actively involved in our parish community? 2. Do people understand that being formed in faith is a lifelong en-deavor? How is such an understanding being encouraged? Mensaje del Párroco: Compartimos nuestra fe (como una familia acogedora) La comunidad parroquial está llamada a ser una familia acogedora en donde los miembros pueden sentirse realmente como verdaderos hijos de Dios. Algunos de nosotros podemos sentirnos afortunados de haber encontrado esa parroquia. Otros la han experimentado cuando han visitado a familiares y amigos. Este tipo de comunidad parroquial hace que la gente se sienta bien-venida y valorada. Es aquí donde las personas reconocen que la comu-nidad parroquial provee un lugar donde se puedan sentir amados, vivir tranquilos y discernir acerca del porqué de sus vidas en este mundo. Aquí experimentan el amor de Dios y del prójimo y sienten la necesidad de evangelizar y compartir la Buena Nueva con los demás. Comparten su esperanza más allá de lo comprensible y ésta se contagia con los demás. Yo se que aunque esta descripción de una familia parroquial parezca muy idealista, nos provee una visión de lo que una verdadera comuni-dad puede y debe ser. Para reflexionar y discutir: 1.)¿Cómo podemos invitar a las personas para que participen más activamente en la comunidad parroquial? 2.)¿Entienden las personas que la formación de fe es una experiencia de toda la vida? ¿Cómo se está fomentando esta idea entre las personas? On Thursday, November 28 we will have masses at 6:30am and 9:00am for Thanksgiving Day. The Parish

St. Mary’s Medical Center Auxiliary Annual Holiday Boutique: St. Mary’s Medical Center Auxiliary will be holding its annual Holiday Boutique in the main lobby of St. Mary’s Hospital, San Fran-cisco—Tuesday, Nov.19 through Thursday, Nov. 21. Tuesday is Preview Night from 4pm-7pm with refreshments at a fee of $10 and free parking. Wednesday’s hours are from 10am to 4pm and Thursday’s from 10am to 3pm. A raffle and silent auction will be held with many lovely prizes. Start your Christmas shopping early by joining us for this annual event.
