Dear Brothers and Sisters,On this fourth Sunday of Advent I invite you toreflect with me on Ma4r's "Yes" to God. She wascalled by the Father to play an important role inhis plan of salvation. She didn't have the fullgrasp of what was happening yet, in her fear, shehad complete trust in the Lord and said "let it bedone to me according to your word." Those werenot easy words to say, recognizing she did not havea full grasp of what it means yet completely putherself in the hands of the Lord. How cooperativeare we to the plans of God?ON Christmas day let us open our hearts to theLord. To remember his birth is to remember thathis coming signals the beginning of the fulfillmentof tJle Father's promise of salvation. The word hascome to flesh and the work of salvation has begun.May his coming to fuIfill God's promise iswelcomed by hearts ready to receive him andready, like Mary, to cooperate and participate inhis work of salvation.Christmas is the work of God. Let us participateas his co-workers. Christmas is his coming, reallyliring with us with our life and our times. l,et ourcoming togetJrer on Christmas day express ourdesire to help build his kingdom here on earttr. Asa community we journey together in faith, hopeand love to bear witness and to bring Christ to ourworld in whatever way we can do. Let us long forthat day when at last tJ,e God of justice, peace andlove will finally reveal and reign forever!Merry Christmas to everyone.

First Reading: Genesis 15:1-6, 21:l-3Psalm: 105'Th.e Lord rem.embers his couenantforeuer"Sqcond Reading: Hebrews 1L:8,1L-12,17-19Gospel: Luke 2:22-40During the Christmas season, the readings given tous are more closely related to each other thanusual. And so we hear the story of Abraham andSarah being promised a son, and God fulfilling thatpromise. In the second reading, Saint PauIcomments directly on that history, pointing againto the promise made and fulfilled by God. then inthe Gospel we encounter Simeon and Anna in thetemple, who praise God for the promise kept in thebirth of Jesus. While you listen to God's ownwords, let us welcome the fulfilled promise of Godinto our own lives.
