The obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation CONTINUES TO BE LIFTED. You are not required to attend Mass at this time. You are encouraged to keep the Lord’s Day holy with prayer and reflection along with a possible viewing of a livestream celebration of Mass. Here are some tips:

UNITE WITH OTHERS. It's better not to follow the Mass alone, so try to do so with your family, or with at least one other family member. CREATE THE RIGHT SETTING. Take care of the atmosphere in the room. For example, you could put a cross or an image of Our Lady near your TV or computer, and light a candle or two if you have some. GET DRESSED. Dress for the occasion: you might be at home, but leave the pajamas for bedtime. GO THROUGH THE MOTIONS. Try to attend the Mass as if you were in church, standing when the Gospel is read, kneeling during the consecration, etc. These gestures are full of meaning. PRAY AN ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION. Although you can't receive Jesus in the Eucharist, you can pray a spiritual communion.

WHAT'S THE RUSH? Don't be in a hurry. The Mass has incredible value, and right now there are so many things to pray for. Pray for a few moments after Mass has ended to pray for everyone: the deceased, the sick, health professionals, government officials and, of course, the Church, the Pope, our bishops and your parish community.

The PARISH OFFICE is open for business, we ask that you please call the office and place your order for giftcards or mass cards before coming to the office and remember to wear your mask!

MISSION SUNDAY COLLECTION Next weekend is the Mission Sunday Collection. Please place your offering in the basket as you enter church next weekend. 107-1

Here’s a great opportunity for your whole family to grow in faith, side by side. Spend 10 minutes a week watching a video or reading an article and having a family discussion will help you and your child(ren) grow closer to Christ. Most videos are only a few minutes long and provide information to get you thinking and talking about faith-based ideas. Saintly Person Venerable Carlo Acutis was beatified by Pope Francis on Saturday, October 10th. His canonization cause has been popularized not only due to his young testament to holiness before he died of leukemia at age 15, but also because of his adeptness with technology. At age 14, he designed a website to share his great love for the Eucharist. See the article and video on the Youth Group Page!

Kids Corner Madison Fagust from PREP level answers the question: What parts of the Bible are used for Mass? The First Reading and psalm are usually from the Old Testament. On Sundays, we hear a Second Reading from the New Testament. We hear a reading from one of the Gospels at every Mass too. We also hear readings from the Bible at every mass. Jailyn Crowder, level 6, Prayer for Peace Dear Lord please help us spread love and peace during this pandemic and times. I am asking you to please look over my family, friends and strangers to help them spread peace to. Please lay your loving arms around me and my family and friends. Lord please help the sinners of the world learn how to do right. Lord please help me spread peace to. Amen 107-2

How easy it is, especially in these times, to be consumed by the cares and distractions of the “here and now,” forgetting about what matters most — living for the Kingdom of Heaven. The stewardship way of life, with its emphasis on the virtuous use of our Time, Talent, and Treasure, allows us to embrace daily life and all its demands — with eternity in mind. How do we keep focused on the Kingdom of Heaven? St. Paul shares his secret for an eternity-driven life. In our Second Reading from his Letter to the Philippians, Paul says, “I know how to live in humble circumstances; I know also how to live with abundance. In every circumstance and in all things I have learned the secret of being well fed and going hungry, of living in abundance and of being in need.” In other words, Paul has learned to live the stewardship way of life. What is the secret? It is this: “I can do all things in him who strengthens me.” How? Through this: “My God will fully supply whatever you need, in accord with his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” It is so simple! But it is not easy. It takes both courage and humility to live this way. God will supply these to us if we ask.
