Setting processes in motion with high pressure.
Whether small capacities against high pressures or large capacities against medium pressures - KSB's pump type CHTR are adaptable to the various processes. Modular design allows four sizes with up to 18 stages to be selected. KSB's know-how in hydraulics, rigid pump shafts and long inter-stage bushings and wear rings providing hydrostatic supporting forces make it possible to build reliable pumps with large numbers of stages.
Maximum efficiency
It is possible to combine two
special impeller configurations
with six diffuser configurations
for each pump size. In total, we
have more than 30 hydraulic
configurations. The hydraulic
duty points are so finely
distributed and the impeller
profiles have special cut-down
characteristics such that an
optimum efficiency will be
available for every need. The
modular design enables
optimization of pumps with
regard to :
- power consumption
(efficiency)- initial costs (number of stages)- NPSH-value
Impeller without locking ring(Optional)
Drive end bearings- Can be dismantled without disturbing motor / pump piping connections.
Seal casing executionwith or without cooling as perrequirement
Fan cooling on request. Heavy duty thrust bearing design- With force lubrication for higher loading/speed- Special design to provides self alignment feature for main loaded bearing

Ensuring functional reliability
CHTR-pumps are designed in such a way that even upset process conditions cannot disturb their smooth operation. The forces and moments acting on the pump nozzles, due to temperature changes in the piping system, do not cause any problems. KSB pumps have built-in safety margins and good emergency running characteristics.
Fulfilling specific process requirements
Particular process requirements are usually well defined for each individual pump. The demands made on a process pump that keeps a process going by operating year after year round the clock are different from the requirements, for example, on a fuel pump running only periodically at short intervals. In the one process, liquid gases are circulated at extremely low temperatures, in the other, hydro-carbons with
0 0temperatures up to 400 C/752 F must be handled. Process pumps must cope with e.g. seawater or acids just as well as with abrasive quartz particles or cat-fines from crack plants.
Suction impeller minimizes site investments
In order to minimize the NPSH value of the pump it is possible beside the normal hydraulics - to provide single-suction or double-suction impellers. This reduces plant construction costs.
Process specific pump design
Resistant materials
A large variety of standard materials complying with national and international standards is available. For special service, e.g. corrosive media, KSB developed particularly resistant composite materials. CHTR-pumps may also be built of erosion-resistant steel. Because of KSB's extensive experience with different alloyed materials, KSB can solve any pumping problems in the best possible way.
KSB has it's own foundries working with the latest pattern making & casting methods.
