Fides, founded in 1967, is a breeding company established in
many products groups: Cut Chrysanthemum, Kalanchoe,
decorative Kalanchoe, Pot and multiflora chrysanthemum,
Pelargonium, Impatiens New Guinea, Pot Dahlia, Osteosper-
mum, Petunia, Nemesia, Calibrachoa and Asters. These high
quality products find their way all over the world.
All together 1.700 people are employed by Fides worldwide,
170 of which reside in the Netherlands. Production of Fides
cuttings or plantmaterial takes place in the most ideal
conditions at locations in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Costa
Rica, South Africa and the United States. Additionally, Fides
also has sales offices in the Netherlands, Germany, South
Africa, United States and Japan. Breeding of Fides products is
located in the Netherlands, Denmark, Japan, Spain and the
United Kingdom. The various locations and the extensive
agent network provide an optimal global distribution system
of Fides products. Fides is part of the Agribio Group, one of
the world’s leading breeders in horticulture, offering their
customers a wide range of products and varieties with a

Fides has earned a worldwide reputation in the industry
for chrysanthemums and flowering pot plants. Market
orientation, quality care, service, and supply chain
distribution are highly valued qualities at Fides, as well as
the international group of companies that Fides belongs to.
Fides has the ambition to be innovating and inspiring, its
products have a high market value bringing profitability to
all partners in the supply chain.
As an international member of the horticulture industry,
Fides seeks close partnerships with all partners in the supply
chain, embracing the importance of long term profitability
for all partners as the result. By working closely with the
grower, broker and retailer, Fides knows what the worldwide
demand for flowering and pot plants will be. This is the
reason why breeding at Fides is tuned to the wishes of the
grower and the consumer. For example, we develop products
that fit the high efficiency standards of growers, as well as
products for the florist and the consumer with unique flower
shapes and colors.
Our highly experienced product managers keep in touch
with the growers and consumers in order to select only the
best varieties. To achieve the best market value for Fides
products, we do our utmost to support our products
throughout the supply chain. Each year our introductions
play a prominent role at the largest international trade fairs
and industry events. During these fairs and events we
promote our novelties and gain new inspiration for future
breeding. All these activities result in knowledge of and
experience in the market place and great partnerships with
our customers. That is very important at Fides: It makes us

A healthy start gives healthy results
Fides processes all of its products through its own Elite System.
This system guarantees absolutely healthy stock material.
The Elite System builds up stock from individually selected
mother plants. The build up of propagation stock is controlled
by the Fides laboratory during the entire process, guaranteeing
the absence of viruses, bacteria and pathogenic fungi. There
is individual control for each base plant and sampling of
propagation stock. This constantly controlled system combined
with high level corporate hygiene protocols guarantees healthy
stock material. The cuttings taken from these plants will give
you a healthy start to achieve healthy results under your own
production circumstances.
