Attached is Chrysler Group LLC's ("Chrysler") updated Recall Quarterly Reports, in accordance with the requirements of Paragraph 573.7 of the Defect and Noncompliance Reports regulation. Chrysler was informed, by your office, of a discrepancy with the total vehicle volume relating to recall 09V436. The quarterly reports ending in June 2010 and September 2010 contained a portion of the total vehicle volume for recall 09V436.

Chrysler reviewed the reports and determined the recall launched with only the 2008 model year Jeep Wrangler vehicles. This was due to the availability of the software update for the 2008 model year Jeep Wrangler, the 2007 model year Jeep Wrangler software update was still under development. This resulted in the first recall quarterly report, provided in May 2010 to display only the 2008 model year Jeep Wrangler vehicle volume (88,461 vehicles). In May 2010, the software update for the 2007 model year Jeep Wrangler became available and Chrysler immediately included the 2007 model year Jeep Wrangler vehicles to the recall. The addition of the 2007 model year Jeep Wrangler vehicles resulted in the total vehicle volume to change from 88,461 to 157,681. Chrysler immediately conducted a follow-up mailing to assure all 2007 model year Jeep Wrangler owners received notification of the recall. Chrysler's recall quarterly reports for quarters ending June 2010 and September 2010 should have been updated to the 157,481 vehicle volume, due the inclusion of the 2007 model year Jeep Wrangler. Chrysler is providing updated recall quarterly reports for June 2010, September 2010 and December 2010 to include the appropriate vehicle volume for recall 09V436.
