Lombardo Student Center Atrium and Administration Building Sponsored by Campus Ministry, these trees will offer students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to give gifts for children at the Fatima Family Center, those visited by our Labre Project and earthquake relief in Nepal. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4 Gingerbread Party & Ornament Making D.J. Lombardo Student Center, Jardine Room, 10 p.m.-midnight Bring your friends to a holiday extravaganza. Enjoy a gingerbread house decorating contest, festive crafts, and delicious treats. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5 Through the Eyes of a Child Intramural Gym, 10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Looking for a fun and rewarding service project for the holiday season? Through the Eyes of a Child is an annual event sponsored by Students for Social Justice and Beta Theta Pi. Approximately 100 elementary school children from inner-city Cleveland will visit JCU’s campus for arts and crafts, a visit with Santa and lunch in the cafeteria. Each child will be paired with a JCU student as a buddy. All JCU students are asked to spend up to $20 to purchase a gift for the child that they are matched with. Santa will be present, of course! Off-Campus Skating Event Bundle-up with SUPB’s skating extravaganza! Look for sign ups in the D.J. Lombardo Student Center Atrium after Thanksgiving Break! Movie Night Dolan Center for Science and Technology, Donahue Auditorium, 10 p.m.–midnight Enjoy your favorite popular holiday movie with SUPB and get into the spirit of the season. SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6 Breakfast with Santa Mass, Saint Francis Chapel, 9:30 a.m. Breakfast and visit with Santa, Schott Dining Hall, immediately following Mass John Carroll alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends are invited to join us as we celebrate the 21st annual Breakfast with Santa. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 12 CHRISTMAS CARROLL EVE Musical Concert Saint Francis Chapel, 4 p.m. This year’s Christmas Carroll Eve concert will feature a Carroll sing-along with special selections from the JCU Schola Cantorum and Woodwind Ensemble. Enjoy the spirit of the season by experiencing your favorite Christmas carols. Taste of the Holidays Dinner Schott Dining Hall, 5–7 p.m. We invite you to relax and share some holiday spirit with your friends and neighbors. Treat yourself to a taste of the holidays around the world as we feature dishes celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. Tickets are $5 at the door. We especially welcome neighbors and friends of John Carroll University to this new event. Home for the Holidays! D.J. Lombardo Student Center Atrium, 7–8:30 p.m. 7 p.m. – Bring your friends to make holiday ornaments and decorate cookies. 7:30 p.m. – Presentation of holiday music provided by the JCU Jazz Band, the Sweet Carrollines, the Pep Band, Streaks in Key, and the Dance Ensemble. 8:15 p.m. – Hear a special reading of “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” by Dr. Seuss featuring some of our famous campus celebrities! Refreshments provided too! Procession to Mass From D.J. Lombardo Student Center Atrium to the Church of the Gesu, 8:45 p.m. Join the candlelit procession from the atrium to the Church of the Gesu. Candles provided for all participants! Christmas Carroll Eve Mass The Church of the Gesu, 9 p.m. The traditional Christmas Carroll Eve Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Gesu, across from Rodman Hall on Miramar Boulevard. Music will be provided by JCU’s Schola Cantorum, Chapel Ensemble, and friends under the direction of Cynthia Caporella, Ph.D., director of liturgical music and musical arts. Late Night Feast Schott Dining Hall, 10:30 p.m. What is Christmas without food and fellowship? End your evening with a delicious feast of holiday goodies. Reminiscent of a good-old-fashioned family Christmas atmosphere, this event will rival even grandma’s recipes! Holiday Bingo will be a special treat!
