STARFISH WAND!
What you will need:
Coloured card
Lollypop stick
Glue and cello tape
Ribbon
Felt tip pens
1. Cut out the starfish template below and draw round it on
coloured card.
1. Cut out the starfish shape and tape the lollypop stick to the back.
2. Decorate the starfish wand however you wish!

Friendship maze!
For many of us, Christmas is about giving and sharing! These
animal pairs love to help one another by providing each other
with gifts. This is called SYMBIOSIS!
Clownfish and anemones
Clownfish hide amongst the
tentacles of anemones! The
anemones provide them with
shelter and the clownfish
keep the anemone clean.
Grouper and cleaner wrasse
Giant groupers open their
mouth wide so that cleaner
wrasse can eat the dirt from
their teeth, making them nice
and clean! The grouper help
the wrasse by providing them
with a tasty meal.
Giant groupers are listed as
VULNERABLE on the IUCN
red list. This is mainly due to
them being overfished for too

list, but their coral reed habitat is
at threat due to global warming and

many ocean creatures, they are in danger of mistaking plastic
particles for food and being caught in fishing nets!

The angel shark you can see on the left and right of the bauble is CRITICALLY
ENDAGERED. For many years, people have caught them by accident when fishing
with long lines and trawls. This is known as bycatch. See page 11 for ideas on how

What you will need:
Jar
Coloured tissue paper
Black sugar paper
Scissors
PVA Glue
Sand
1. Cut up some coloured tissue paper into different shapes and
sizes.
2. Glue some pieces of tissue paper onto the jar so that they
overlap and create a collage effect. Keep going until you can
no longer see the glass of the jar.
3. Draw some ocean animals onto the black paper and cut them
out. Glue them on to the jar (see the ideas below!)
4. Put a small layer of clean sand at the bottom of the jar.
5. Ask an adult to help you light the tea light and place it on
