This morning, enjoy a tour of the city known as “The Crossroads of the West.” Settled by pioneers in 1847,Salt Lake City became a pivotal city for the settling and building of the western U.S. Now a wonderful moderncity in the heart of the Rocky Mountain West, Salt Lake City is a gateway to commerce, transportation andoutdoors recreation. Salt Lake City cemented its place as a world class winter sports destination when ithosted the Winter Olympic Games in 2002. You will visit all the main sites including the State Capitol,Temple Square, the Avenues, University of Utah and This Is The Place Monument. Enjoy a little free timeto relax in the afternoon. With two wonderful shopping districts, The Gateway & City Creek Center, within walkingdistance of the hotel, you are sure to find what you are looking for. Tonight join the group for dinner at a localrestaurant followed by a wonderful production of A Christmas Carol at Hale Center Theater. This morning we’ll take a scenic drive to the Park City area, where we’ll take a guided tour of Utah OlympicPark, the amazing facility that hosted events for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games and continues to host WorldCup events. The historic mining town of Park City is now a world class winter and summer resort destinationand home to the world famous Sundance Film Festival. We’ll take a short driving tour and have free time toexplore historic Main Street’s many shops, art galleries and restaurants. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy a shortdrive to the small Swiss village of Midway on our way to the Homestead Resort, a beautifully decorated historichotel. Here we will be able to participate in optional activities including cross country skiing, snow shoeing,tubing, snowmobiling and more. Homestead is known for its one-of-a-kind geothermal hot spring, hiddenwithin a 55-foot tall, dome shaped limestone rock known as the Homestead Crater. We’ll have time for arelaxing dip before an old-fashioned horse drawn sleigh ride this evening. Experience winter in the HeberValley as it was meant to be as you glide along behind a team of horses and listen to the jingle of the bells.
