Christmas PartyFor the children, this years Christmas party

is to be held at the community Hall on

Saturday 15th December 2007from 2.30 - 6pm. All children are requested to attend the fun, games and entertainment.

All parents are urged to bring their children along.

This event is for children under 12 years of age. To avoid the hall getting crowded, parentsare requested to drop their children and collect them at 6pm.

Navratri FestivalNavratri 2007 was held at The Main Hall, Queens

Park Community School, Kensal Rise

The event was held over two weekends andwas very well attended. It is gratifying to seethe younger generation are participating incommunity functions.

There was a music band for 3 days to addvariety to the event.

We would like to thank Raj and KrishanBhupendra Khatri, Pritesh Naresh Kapadiafor playing the Dhol. More of our youthshould come forward to play other musicalinstruments and maybe even sing.

From the donations received from Navratrifunction, a total of £1,000.00 has been sentto five different charities. They are GayatriMandir Hendon, Jalaram Mandir Greenford,Skenda vale temple as well as Ambaji andBhavneshwari (India).

UtensilHireWe would like to request when hiringutensils, that whoever comes to collect anddrop hire utensils, should bring two peoplewith them who can assist in carrying theutensils.

Utensils can be collected the day before (ofthe hire) and returned the day after (of thehire). Any extra day(s) would incur rentalcharges.

Social Evening NewsThe social evening on 2nd November was buzzing withapprox 70 people attending this event. On the menuwere Kheema Kebab and Soya Beans Kebab forvegetarians.

SKA would like to thank Harivadan Kabawala, HarishSolanki and Chandrakant Adenwala who came to helpthe committee members with cooking.

London Marathon 2008 -Bhavin Shantilal Khatri writes:Time to time we all aspire to do something challenging and this time I havedecided to take upon myself a challenge which I always wanted to do since Iarrived in the UK in 1991. I am going to take part in The Flora London Marathon2008 (on 13th April 2008). I am going to run for a charity called Shishukunj(Life 4 Children). They do number of projects in UK, India, Africa and around theworld helping orphaned, disabled, poor children. Some of the projects theysupport are:

SOS Holland and Whizz Kids (UK), Food for life(Kenya)and other development projects

Numerous special needs & poor children projects in India Earthquake relief programmes in adopting a village and

rebuilding educational facilities

I feel that it’s really a worthy cause to support. I hope you will give me your generous support by sponsoring me and help me raise as much money as possible. You can give me your sponsor moneyeither by cash or cheques.

Diwali/New Year’s Party- Continued

There was plenty to eat and drink. The catering was from Airport Caterers. The menu was PaneerTikka, Makai, Patra, Kaju Curry, Dhokra, Daal, Rice and Bundi. The evening was enjoyed by all,young and old alike.
