Most of us usually decorate the

Christmas tree on 8th of December.

Our presepe is a representation of the

nativity scene made with small statues. Children

go looking for some moss in the country, so we

make it more realistic.In some villages there is

the tradition of representing the Nativity

scene.


Between the last days of November and the first of December in

Italy you can feel the first atmosphere of

Christmas!

Our town turns on! Everybody starts to decorate their house

with coloured blinking lights and in the main square a big christmas

tree shines.

Children write their letters to Father

Christmas to ask him for some gifts.


It’s based on fish recipes and composed by several courses.

Spaghetti with clamsGamberoni (king prawns)

Aragosta (lobster)Calamari fritti (fried squids)


We also consume natural products

which are typical of winter like oranges,

apples, pears, tangerines and dried

fruits.

Finally we eat

traditional Christmas

cakes, Panettone

and Pandoro.


Some people attend the midnight Service in Church.

Some others celebrate

sitting around the christmas

tree and sharing

presents.


Adults dress up as father

christmas in order to delight

children


On 25th we party again with our relatives. Once

more eating a huge lunch and gaining weight!

It’s an occasion to

meet all your family and spend time with them!It’s

something very rare

nowadays.


Toys, electronic equipments,

clothing are the most expected

and desired gifts .

They represent the most

commercial side of

Christmas
