Joyful, Joyful!
Dear SAA Parents,
On behalf of the SAA Faculty, Staff, and Administration, I wish
you a joyful and holy Christmas
and a New Year filled with the peace of Our Lord. You have
blessed us with your most precious gift, your children, and
for the love that they bring to us
each day we are so deeply grateful.
Kathynnn
Ever since I attended the Christmas programs at SAA-SDS when my children were little, I have always been amazed at the number of people who gather in a gym to hear our Lower School sing an array of holiday songs and our Early Childhood perform the story of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem where the baby Jesus was born.
I am struck by the profoundness that during perhaps the busiest time of the year, it is the children who bring us together...
It is the children who teach us how to pause and to be present to each other...And it is the children who remind us that it is love that binds us...
My wish for all of our families this Christmas is that we follow the lead of the children as they bring us closer to God’s only Son by
inviting us into their world of joy and innocence. Their simplicity is that of the Christ child born in a manger, and their presence in our lives is to be honored by our being present to them.
z It is the Children... z“For God so loved the world that He gave us His one and only Son, that
whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16

Advent is a period of preparation that extends over the four Sundays before Christmas. In the rich tradition of our Catholic faith, all of the children in grades 2K-8 participate in the Advent wreath lighting. During our gatherings each day to light the candles, we sing and pray that hope, peace, joy and love, will fill our hearts as we wait in anticipation for the birth of the baby Jesus! Continue to pray with your daughter for God’s blessings at Christmas time and in the New Year to come!
