FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK:

I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THIS.

Have you ever used that line when someone is requesting

something from you? We use phrases such as; “I’m too

busy”, “My schedule is full”, “I have a full load already”,

and we are just basically telling people “I don’t have time

for you.” Now I don’t think we really mean it that way

most of the time, but that is how people often feel when

we think we are too busy for them.

We are dealing with the fact that many people are lonely

and really need someone to spend some time with them.

We have many young adults and teens who need to know

that someone cares about them, and will take time to listen

to their concerns and worries. We have many in our

society who feel that they are out of options and have no

one to turn to for help, so they give up and quit trying.

These very things were discussed at both our recent Elders

meeting and also the Church Board meeting. Our elders

and deacons care about people, and want you to know that

they are available whenever someone needs help, or

someone to just listen to them. Help is available by

contacting any of the Board members or by calling the

church office. We don’t want anyone to have to face life’s

problems alone, because we really do care.

This will be the theme for the August 16 sermon: “I Don’t

Have Time For You” taken from Matthew 15:21-28. Join us

as we worship and serve together.

Blessings to you all…Gary B
