AN IMPORTANT CONGREGATIONAL MEETING is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 6, following both Worship Services to vote on a Senior Minister candidate. The Church Board has voted to recommend Chris Goetz to be promoted to the Senior Minister position for FCC. This comes after several months of consideration by the Board of Elders and was then presented to the Church Board for their decision. The final decision will be made by the members of our congregation at this Dec. 6 election. It is important that each of you be in prayer about this and to attend Church on Dec. 6 for the opportunity to vote on this important decision. The Church Board has also asked Chris to preach one more time on Sunday, Nov. 29, at both services, to give members the opportunity to hear him again. In other news, we are grateful to the Goppert Foundation for their contribution of $25,000 to our new Building Fund. We also thank the staff at GSSB bank for their efforts in achieving this for us. The grant was based upon our community involvement through the community dinners and the youth outreach programs to serve people outside of our church family. Linda and I would also like to thank the church for the gift certificate given us for Pastor Appreciation month. We have a great love for our church family and always appreciate the friendship and love that is shown us in so many ways. But let’s never lose sight of the ultimate goal, which is to reach others for Christ. So many people are hurting and need the love and peace that He alone can bring to them. Let’s be sure that we are doing everything we can to be a positive influence on them through our compassion and care.
