CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP

THE BIBLE

GOD SAYS

The Bible is the Written Word of GOD to man. All of our Christianity is based upon what we learn

from the Bible.

IS WHAT

THE BIBLEIs Truth.

The Bible is the book that contains GOD’s Truth. No one can interpret the Bible without the aid of the Holy Spirit.

God Told Men What toWrite In The

Holy Bible

II Peter 1: 20,21John 17:17

II Peter 1: 20 – 21

Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit

In other words, men did not make up what they wrote in the Bible. They were inspired of God’s Holy Spirit what to write.

The same Holy Spirit in the Christian interprets the Bible

John 17: 17

Sanctify them (Christians) by the Truth; Your word is Truth.

The Bible is the Written

Word of GOD

The Word of GOD is Eternal; It can be counted upon.

IT WILL NEVERPASS AWAY

1 Peter 1:25 But the Word of the Lord Stands Forever.

A Testament Is A Contract or Covenant

The Bible Has An OldTestament and A New Testament

God has made a contract with Christians; “IF YOU WILL OBEY (old) BELIEVE (new), THEN I WILL BE YOUR GOD.”

Fundamental to Christianity is our willingness to BELIEVE GOD. Too many Christians try to live good lives apart from GOD!!

The BIBLE has One Theme

The Theme of the Bible relates to GOD’s ultimate intention to redeem (Return what was lost) man to become adopted children of

His family like His Begotten Son Jesus.

Sovereign God’s Salvation of Man

The Old Testament method by which GOD accepted man’s faith was through the death of substitute animals.

The wages of sin is death! A guilty Old Testament Israelite must offer a sacrificial offering for his sins, in the way that God had appointed.

1. The sinner goes out to his fields and selects a lamb, or a young calf, to be his sacrificial offering.

2. He brings his sacrifice to the priest, and the priest inspects it, to be sure that it is a perfect sacrifice, suitable for atonement.

3.The guilty man then lays his hands upon the animal’s head.

4, Then the sacrificial animal is slain. The priest takes his blood and sprinkles it upon the altar.

All those elaborate ceremonies and sacrifices of the Old

Testament were designed by God to point men to Christ, the true

sacrifice for sin.

He who was without sin took upon Himself our sins so that we might be free! (II Corinthians 5:21)
