Wheel correlatorThis entry aid in the chain conveyor system is anecessary accessory in overcoming difficult entrysituations or in helping drivers unfamiliar with thefacility. The roller guided floor plate easily guidesthe wheels into the conveyor lane.

CONVEYOR EQUIPMENTEntry aid and push-on system

Feed-in conveyor system, plasticFor wash tunnels with customer corridor. The vehicle is driven over the wheel correlator and stopped on thefeed-in conveyor (wheel carrier is located on top in centre positionas a brake barrier).Feed-in succeeds following program selection on the control console. The feed-in conveyor is initiated and the wheel carrier pushes theright front wheel forward until the left front wheel is in the mainconveyor (double chain conveyor or plate conveyor). At this point, the vehicle is taken over and pulled by the main conveyor.

Double chain conveyorVehicles are conveyed through the vehicle wash unitby means of chain driven rollers moving at aconstant speed. A frequency controlled gearlessdrive is construed according to the chain length andis used as the drive unit. This drive sits directly on themotor shaft.

An integrated overload protection device switchesthe drive off during an emergency. Therefore, ashearing pin is no longer necessary. The conveyorspeed can be regulated and the respectivelyrequired capacity can be adjusted to.

Additional rim protectionRim damages in the conveyor device are minimizedby use of protective caps.

Additional rim protectionEmployment of plastic plates prevents rims frombeing damaged in the conveyor device. The upturnbeams are integrated in the band and move withthe wheel and serve for wheel protection and stabileguidance.

Plate conveyor, plasticThe vehicles are conveyed through the wash stationsby the wheel carriers integrated in the plastic plates.Plastic plates with increased material thickness aredelivered for conveyor lengths starting at 36.325 mm.

The left wheels stand during the drag process on theband (no rolling movement). A frequency controlledgearless drive is used as a drive unit just as with thedouble chain conveyor. The conveyor speed can beadjusted to correspond to the required capacity.

MAIN WASH ZONEHybrid technology

Definition “Hybrid”In technical terms, the word“hybrid” refers to a system inwhich two technologies arecombined.

Christ hybrid technologyThis technology is employed in our high-performance wash tunnelsmade from stainless steel (from Christ AG). The wash cylinderdrives are available in hydraulic or in electric design in connec-tion with frequency converters for setting the cylinderrotation speed. High-performance conveyor drives allow for speedsup to 14 mtr./min., eliminating excessive waiting queries.

Page 21: Christ wasstraten

18

Frame system COMPACT-HYBRIDDiverse wash cylinder systems can beintegrated in the COMPACT-HYBRIDstainless steel frame systems.

Roof cylinder extension system KINEMATICKINEMATIC is the doctrine of the movement of bodiesin a space. Our KINEMATIC roof cylinder moves with-out aid of lifting mechanics over the horizontal vehiclesurfaces and around the rear of the vehicle, washingthese surfaces easily and flawlessly. A counter weightis used for balancing and a pneumatic cylinder forsafety reasons.

Best results and optimum wash safety are achieved bychanging the brush rotation direction.

Best wash results and optimum wash safety areachieved by the brush rotation direction change –even when washing with textile wash material.

21

FLEX-EXPRESS free-standingThe special aggregate for wash tunnels with highwash throughput and for express wash tunnels. Bothall-around wash cylinders are mounted in afree-standing stainless steel portal frame. By means ofan additional joint (with air control), the cylinder canalso pivot-in on the rear of the vehicle during theall-around wash process, perfectly cleaning not justthe front and side vehicle areas but also the rearareas – and that at a conveyor speed of up to12 mtr./min..

FLEX-EXPRESS extension systemThe successful concept of the FLEX-EXPRESS has beentransferred as an add-on kit to the standard hybridtechnique wash portal. This enables the all-aroundwash cylinders to also be able to pivot-in on the rearof the vehicle in shorter hybrid technique wash tunnels. One cylinder is mounted on the rear of the first portal, the second cylinder of the cylinder pair is attached tothe front side of the second wash portal. Parallel tothe free-standing FLEX-EXPRESS, the second jointedarm (pneumatically controlled) pivots in on thevehicle’s rear. This substantially improves the rearwash - even at a conveyor speed of up to 12 mtr./min..

MAIN WASH ZONEContour technology wash components

Wash portal contour technology, ROTEX-2,2-cylindersThe stabile, galvanized and painted portal frame is cladded with plasticelements. Pneumatically controlled and oscillating side cylindersguarantee a most effective function. The side cylinders adapt to thevehicle’s front and rear area as well as to the window areas by meansof the slanting cylinder positioning. The wash portal’s side cylinderscan be equipped with the patented, unique jointed brush device fromChrist AG, so that even the upper and lower side parties of roundedvehicle side surfaces are completely washed.

Contour technology washes vehicles gently and thoroughly. This tried and true wash technology hasproven to be just as recommendable for new sites as for sites to be modernized.

Page 27: Christ wasstraten

24

Wash portal contour technology, ROTEX-3, 3-cylindersThe ROTEX-3 portal is the main wash aggregate in the contour tech-nology wash tunnel from Christ AG. The stabile, galvanized andpainted portal frame is cladded with plastic elements. Integratedirrigation with a shampoo dosing pump ensures full-coverage surfacepre-rinse before the wash cylinders. The side cylinder system is as perthe wash portal ROTEX-2 and can also be optionally extended with thepatented jointed brush device from Christ AG.This portal combined with a pneumatic rear-following horizontal washcylinder forms a compact wash tunnel component, which can beoptimally integrated between existing elements for wash tunnelmodernisations.A second ROTEX-3 or ROTEX-2 portal can and should (where spaceallows) be subsequently installed following the first ROTEX portal. Theportals are positioned off the centre of the wash axis to obtain a centrecross-over wash by the side cylinders.

More wash power on problematic zonesThe rear following horizontal wash cylinder (roof

cylinder) has longer contact on the front and rear.
