PREPARATIONSand surface and remove dust. To prep the back-ground, mix 1:1 Multi-Purpose sealer and Slate Green. Use the #20 brush to basecoat the surface. Let dry. Lightly sand painted surface again to smooth. Wipe off remaining dust.

PAINTING INSTRUCTIONSBackgroundShade around the edge with Blue Haze Lt. Using your pencil, lightly draw a wavy lines about ½” from the edge. This line will be painted later. Shade next to the line with Blue Haze Lt. Let dry.

StampPut a small amount of White onto plate. Add just a little water to thin out the paint and spread the paint out. I dipped the corner of the stamp into the paint. Test on paper fi rst, you don’t want any blobs.

Light press the stamp on the edge, being careful not to go over the pencil line. Let dry.

Cow (Fur and Face)Wash in the head, ears, and body area with a Black wash. Just mix a little water with black to lighten up the color. Let dry.

You want to get the muzzle fi nished before start-ing the fur. The fur will lap over the muzzle. Paint inside the ears and the muzzle with Med Flesh. Do two coats on muzzle. Shade the muzzle with Antique Rose. Add a little shading in the ears with Antique Rose. Highlight with White. Add tiny Black dots on the center top of muzzle. Let dry. Shade around the ears, face, and muzzle with Black.

Mix a little water with Black. Load the comb brush with this mix. Remember you want the fur to be very wispy. Paint strokes in diff erent directions.

Begin painting light strokes up the face, start be-tween the eyes and pull up. You will need to load the brush often. Then paint the ears, following the shape of ear. Let some go over the edge. The tail is painted the same.

Repeat until you achieve the amount of fur you like. You don’t want too much of the back ground show-ing. If needed, you can go back with a liner brush and add more fur lines that will stand out more.

Mix a little water with White. Repeat the strokes as you did with the black. Add more between the eyes coming down over the muzzle and around the muz-zle. Paint some areas with more White to be spots on the cow. Add until you like what you have.
