What do you want... I mean really want?
Sometimes I ask myself this question. At times I’m so sure of what I want. And then I analyze what all that would involve and then question whether I really want it.
Only you can define what you really want. Only you can determine what kind of dreams you have and the things you truly desire. Once you get specific about what that exactly is… you can cre-ate a plan to pursue it.
You’re thinking: ok, a plan. But there’s so many ways to go after what I want. And will I be successful in it? Firstly, cut out the doubt. And cut out the confusion.
It says in James 1:5, “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and with-out reproach, and it will be given to him.”
Most of us already have ideas of what we really want deep down inside. We’re just scared of acting out on our dreams. It’s always some-thing that stops us. It could be our insecurities. It could be people in our lives. What-ever it is, the root of our in-
action proves that we don’t fully believe in ourselves. Disbelief comes from fear.
If you don’t believe in yourself and what you have to offer, then who will? One of the perfect ways to dispel that fear is to act upon your true desires.
Begin acting with what you have in your hands and what you know in your brain. It says in Proverbs 16:9, “The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.”
Now some of y’all might read this and think that we
can throw our plans out the window and just wait upon the Lord for direction. It doesn’t work that way. If you don’t have a plan written down, what steps does the Lord have to direct? None.
You have all that it takes to accomplish what you want. There is a reason that desire is in your heart. It’s there be-cause you were meant to ac-complish it.
Just remember what it says in Psalm 37:4, “Take de-light in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” ∆
