Sunscreen is best applied with a sponge. This will ensure an even spread to the lotion and keep youfrom having to touch the lotion. Using a sponge helps the sunscreen work to protect your skinbetter, and it will stop your hands from getting messy.

Try to not use products that have a high concentration of fragrance. Your skin is sensitive andscented lotions and products can end up causing irritation. While these products can be all natural,typically, they are created in a lab. Beyond that, the smell may seem pleasant at first but becomesharsh after a while.

If you are starting to notice fine lines and wrinkles on your face, as your dermatologist if he or shewould prescribe an anti-aging cream for you. Lines and wrinkles can be dealt with using fully testedand proven anti-aging creams. Anti-aging creams often aren't suitable for women who are nursing,pregnant or taken certain medications.

Sensitive facial skin may require you to use special products to avoid irritation. Dyes, chemicals, andperfumes will irritate sensitive skin and should be avoided. Look for products that are hypoallergenicand free of harsh additives.

If you get cold sores often, don't pick them. This will delay healing and could introduce bacteria,leading to an infection. If your cold sore takes a while to heal, it is more prone to scarring, which canespecially happen if you're dealing with an infection.

To help prevent cracking due to drying of skin on hands, wear rubber gloves whenever you arecleaning with water. The skin on your hands is subjected to more washing and scrubbing than anyother skin, so take care to moisturize frequently throughout the day. For extra protection, use anight cream on your hands weekly.

Use a sponge to apply sunscreen to your face. Using a sponge will eliminate the stickiness of thesunscreen, when applied by hand. You'll get more penetration with the sponge application, so yourskin will be protected better.

If you are wearing glasses or sunglasses every day, you will need to clean them often, at least onetime weekly. There is a build up that develops on the glasses that can cause the bridge of the nose tohave clogged pores and thus have acne develop. Cleaning your nose with soap and water can helpyou avoid clogged pores.

Allergies to skin care treatments can develop suddenly and may be temporary. Patience is important,as you should test the ingredient to see whether or not it still affects you.

Regular exfoliation can help in the prevention of whitehead and blackheads if your skin is overly dryor flaky. Exfoliating sloughs off dead skin and clears your pores. This can make your skin look great,and give it a glowing effect from the exposure of fresh skin cells.

Oil-free liquid foundations or mineral powder foundations are great for oily skin. These foundationswill soak up oil and leave your skin smooth. If you are prone to oily skin, pick out your liquidfoundation carefully, since many of them can worsen oily skin.

While many people desire a nice tan because they think it looks healthy, the tanning process isactually very damaging and has really bad side effects. To tan safely, forget tanning booths andsunbathing; try self-tanning lotions instead. Being exposed to UV rays creating by tanning lamps andthe sun can cause melanomas years later.

Try to only use skin care products that are hypoallergenic and do not contain fragrances, natural orotherwise, as they may damage your skin over time. You should also avoid products that containalcohol, as they do more to dry out your skin and have no benefit. Check the label of each productthat you purchase for your skin. If there is alcohol or a fragrance in the ingredients, avoid it.

Lemon juice is a natural bleach. Applied to your skin where you have a darkened spot or a scar,

lemon juice will help lighten them and reduce their visibility. While each treatment only lasts a day,it's nevertheless a cheap and healthy alternative to chemical bleaching products.
