The Beginning!Extra Information:

• Left winger- on the left of the center most of the time• Center- Takes the face-offs and mainly in the middle of the ice.• Right winger- on the right side of the center most of the time.

You are the coach of a hockey team, the game is in OT and 1 of your defensemen has the puck behind your net, what do you tell him to do?

2. Leave the puck and get off the ice.3. Pass the puck to your right winger.

You pass the puck…..

Your winger gets the puck but is about to be hit, what do you tell him to do?

4. Quickly pass the puck to the center and take the hit.

5.Give the puck to the other team and not get hit.

You left the puck…

The other team gets the puck and scores, you lose.

You pass the puck…

4. Your center gets the puck and is at middle ice with the left winger beside him, your right winger gets lucky and does not get hit. It’s a 2 on 2 going into the other teams zone what do

you tell your players. 6.Dump the puck and change lines.7. Tell

your center to pass the puck to the winger.

You give up the puck….

• The other team hits the winger, steals the puck and scores, you lose.

You dump the puck…

The other team is going down the ice your team has to play defensively. Suddenly the player on

the other team trips and falls, the puck is loose, what do your players do?

8. Attack the puck and regain possession.9.

wait for the other team to recover and play it safe.

You pass to the center…

The center passes the puck to your winger, he is between the faceoff dot and the blue line with

the puck, what should he do?10. Shoot the puck!11. stop and wait for the rest of the team to get into the zone.

You shoot the puck…

Your winger shoots the puck and it goes high glove side on the goalie, you win the game!!!!

You attack….

• Your team has regained possession and are quickly going down the ice, but are not in the zone yet, what should you do?12. shoot the puck into the zone and attack it.13. Try to stickhandle past the other team and score.

You wait…

Your player quickly stops and lets your team set up in the attacking zone, you have the

defenseman streaking in the zone, what do you do??

14. Keep the puck and try to stickhandle through everybody.

15. Quickly pass the puck to the your fellow teammate.

You shoot the puck and attack it…

You have dumped the puck into the zone and are faster than the other team and beat the to the puck. Your player has passed it to the front of the net where your winger has a wide open

shot, do you shoot it or pass it back?• 20. Shoot it.

You try to stick handle……

13. The other team regains the puck and starts trying to score in your end of the ice, but time

expires and it is a tie.

You keep the puck…

14. Your player does not pass the puck and tries to “dangle” everybody, but gets hit. The other team goes down the ice on a breakaway and

scores, you lose.

You quickly pass…

• Your player passes the puck but your defenseman misses the net, but has regained the puck behind the net, what should he do?

• 16. Skate the puck to the front of the net and shoot.

• 17. Pass the puck to your other defense man who is at the blue line.

You shoot the puck…

Your player shoots the puck and has scored, you have won the game!!!!

You pass the puck…

The other team intercepted the pass and went down on a break-away and scored, you lose.

You skate to the front of the net…

You skate in front of the net and score, you win!!

You pass the puck….

You pass the puck to your defense man who shoots and scores you win!!

You stop and wait…

Your team gets into the zone and you have a teammate open in front of the net do you pass

the puck?18. Yes.19. NO

No…

• Your player gets hit and the other team goes down the ice and scores.

Yes…

Your player passes the puck to his teammate but the other team’s goalie makes a good save, so there is a faceoff. Do you win the faceoff back

to your d men, or try to score right off the faceoff?

22. Try to score right off the faceoff.23. win it back.

Try to score off the faceoff…

You win the faceoff but lose the puck while trying to score and fall in the process. The

other team takes advantage of this and scores, you lose.

Win it back…

You win the faceoff back and the defenseman has it, but an opponent is about to hit him, do

you…..24. shoot the puck.25. pass it to your other defense man.

You shoot the puck…

You shoot the puck, but it gets blocked and the other team scores on a break-away, you lose!

You pass the puck…

You pass the puck to your partner and he shoots and scores, you win.
