shape, Obovate to elliptical• Serrate margins• Dark green or yellow green above, paler below• Glands below base of leaf• White flowers in long racemes• Fruit dark purple, sour

Ecology

• Found throughout basin and Eastern Oregon in variety of habitats

• Canyons, forests, riparian zones, residential areas, roadways

• Good browse for deer and elk, berries provide food for many birds

• Fruit is used in jelly and wine
