End fittings
Different applications require different connection types; we have plastic and metal hinge eyes, angle joints and more, the shown selection is only a small amount of the selection available.
TCH is an authorized distributor of Stabilus gas springs; we carry the non-blocking line of gas springs LIFT-O-MAT®, the blocking gas springs BLOC-O-LIFT® and the line of dampers, STAB-O-SHOC ®.
Stabilus ensures the highest quality of gas springs and fulfills the require-
ments of international standards, such as DIN EN ISO 9001 and new world
standard ISO/TS 16949.

Why use gas springs?
Gas springs provide a more uniform, comfortable adjustment or pivoting movement than mechanical springs.
They can be used for all applications: trunk and gate lifts, bus, truck and aircraft cargo, truck bed covers, industrial and agricultural equipment, chairs, hospital beds, service panels, windows and more.
Customization of gas springs is available if required (minimum quantities may apply).
Gas springs are maintenance free!
Gas Springs & Dampers
Dimensions according to choice
STABILUS offers an extremely wide range ofgas spring types, which vary in respect oftheir external dimensions, speed curves andextension variants, and invariably meet themost stringent requirements. A large selec-tion is included in the STABILUS standardproduct range and can be delivered atshort notice.
Service life and maintenanceGas springs are maintenance-free! They aredesigned to specific requirements andoperate for years and years without failurewhen properly installed. Also for particu-larly high numbers of load alterationsspecial sealing systems are available whichallow e.g. specific gas springs in swivelchairs to withstand up to one million loadcycles without damage.
ConnectionsDifferent connections are available depen-ding on the application. STABILUS thereforeoffers a wide range of plastic or metalhinge eyes, including the easy-to-mountangle joint that only has to be fitted on theball socket and allows for twist-free instal-lation.
Temperature behaviourThe temperature of the gaseous nitrogeninside the gas spring influences its exten-sion behaviour within certain limits. Thestandard temperature range lies between -30°C und +80°C. In addition, gas springswith special sealing systems for extremeloads are available.
Operational safetyThe operational safety of the gas spring isprimarily achieved by seals designed tokeep the gas pressure inside. For yourprotection, no bending loads should beexerted on the gas springs. Damage causedby subsequent mechanical operations, including welding, performed on the gassprings, as well as contamination or pain-ting of the piston rod may lead to thefailure of the devices.

Installation instructions
Twist-free connectionFor maximum service life, gas springsshould not be exposed to twists or lateralforces. Suitable connection fittings, e.g.angle joints, can be used for the twist-freeconnection of the gas springs.
Installation positionGas springs - except those designed forposition-independent installation - are pre-ferably installed with the piston rod facingdown so as to maximise the hydraulicdamping effect and to ensure optimal lubri-cation of the guide and seal system.

• Can be blocked in any position by two different methods rigidinextension or rigidincompression.
• Resilient blocking is ideal for smooth dampening of shocks, impacts or pulse-peak loads.
• May be suitable for continuous release applications, if required.
• Designed to match the application.
• Dampens forces in one or both extension and compression direction.
• Variable damping rates.
