Fairway HillsMEN’S SENIOR LEAGUE Submitted by Jeff Gasiorowski, President

Fairway HillsMEN’S TWILIGHT LEAGUESubmitted by Doug Grossman

After two consecutive Tuesdays with seasonal rainouts, the Fairway Hills

Senior Golf Association (FHSGA) finally got off to its start on April 19! The

two-week delay did not dampen the enthusiasm for opening day. The

weather was gorgeous for the 55 participants, which saw 11 new members

playing the event. Congratulations to the team of Mo Dutterer, Chuck Bragg,

Don Oliver and Dwight Johnson who won the tiebreaker to finish in first place. Others in the

money are posted at our website at fhsga.net. Afterwards, lunch was provided as we

enjoyed the company of friends – many of whom we had not seen since the close of the

2015 season. It was a wonderful kickoff to our 20th anniversary season!

Our league presently consists of 95 members of which 20 are new since last year. With

several of our previous years hitting membership at 99, we are looking forward to cracking

the century mark this year!

The schedule is set with weekly great events for all to participate and enjoy. Our league

is open to anyone aged 50 or better. The atmosphere is both relaxed and friendly. We

welcome you to come join in the fun every Tuesday morning from April to October at

Fairway Hills Golf Club. Just visit our website at fhsga.net for more information on how

to get started.

Drive safely and keep it in the short grass!

We’re already a

couple months

into the

Thursday night

Men’s Golf

League at Fairway Hills Golf Club.

Despite some challenging weather

(including a hailstorm on opening

night), we

have been able to get in several

weeks of golf.

Even though the league has

started, there is still plenty of time for

new members to join. The league is

split into two sessions. Players can

play multiple matches a night. The

league is a handicapped, match

play format. Players of all levels

are welcome to join! Don’t have a

handicap? No problem! After a

couple of weeks of play, we will

be able to give you a 9-hole

league handicap.

There are prizes for first, second

and third place for the both the

spring and summer sessions. We

also end the year with a tournament.

If you are interested in joining,

please contact Doug Grossman

at [email protected]

or 443-878-6493.

WOMEN’S TWILIGHT LEAGUESubmitted by Kelli Passalacqua

The Women’s Twilight

League is bursting at

the seams with new

members this year!

Despite the weather

over the last month, tee times have

been full of golfers dusting off their

clubs and getting into the swing of

things early in the season.

April Tournament Highlights:

Fairway Hills /April 15 • Five women

managed to keep their same ball —

Diane Adler, Pam McCoy, Betsy

Crone, Kim Rosado and Kay

Somers. Congratulations to our

winners — that is not an easy task!

Hobbit’s Glen/April 21 • Vickie

Ethridge was the winner of our

Double Trouble tournament where

your score is determined by adding

the score of your three lowest

scoring holes to your gross score

total. Way to go Vickie!

The league is open to all women of

all ages with some prior golf

experience. We play every Thursday

afternoon between 4:15-5:30pm

and alternate between Hobbit’s

Glen and Fairway Hills Golf Clubs

each week. We hold a variety of fun

competitions for points, so a 9-hole

handicap of 30 or less and the

ability to shoot below 66 for 9 holes

is required. For more information,

visit Womenstwilight.com.

mid-session. The Schamble Class and Green League have record participation this year.

The next set of lessons/classes will begin after July 4.

Please note that June is a popular time for outings at Fairway Hills. Please be sure

to call the Pro Shop at 410-730-1112 for tee time reservations to make sure you can

walk on.
