When we hear ' monuments ', our mind usually goes to remnants of the past, which carry their own history, they speak in their own way, but did not have life in the literal sense of the word. The "natural monuments" by contrast, are live, their juices ow through and when they stop living, will cease to constitute monuments. They will be just memories and this will be the most unpleasant that might happen. Trees, shrubs and owers of our island, the ngerprints of its ora, rooted in the soil are patiently, waiting from all of us to respect, to love, to care as a valuable piece of ourselves.
