Chinese Invention PostersYou will be creating three poster tracing the development of three Chinese inventions.

On the front of each “slide” you must include:• 1 Chinese Inventions• 1 Modern Version of the invention• 1 Image of what these inventions will look like in the future (MUST BE HAND DRAWN!)

You Must label each item as appropriate (names, dates, locations, context, importance).

The back of your poster should include a paragraph (or more) on each of the inventions in its future form. These paragraphs should include:

• what the components (parts) of the invention include• how the invention works• how it will affect society in the future

The Computer of the Future

The computer of the future has a screen that can roll up very small. It is called a com-pad because it is like a digital pad of paper that rolls up. It includes a camera, microphone, digital pen, and a projector. It can be used to draw and take notes on. When laid flat, it can show 3-D projections of people and buildings with movement. The 3-D projections are 2 feet tall.

It also has a concealable keyboard and can be used as a phone. When rolled up, it looks like a small scroll from ancient times. When open, it looks like a flat computer or tablet. It weights less than a pound and even though it can fit in your pocket (longways), when you unroll it, the screen becomes very long.

The future computer revolutionizes society because it allows for 3-D images and it is portable everywhere, like many of today’s smart phones. However, it has all the features of a computer like a keyboard, a large screen, and superior processing power. Students use it for 3-D textbooks which show you small 2 foot models of the places you are studying, like Hagia Sophia in Constantinople. Artists use it to draw 3-D images. You can call friends, watch 3-D movies, play video games, and more.
