    JOURNAL SUMMARY and NURSING IMPLICATION

    Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. And because of this,

    biomarkers have been advanced nowadays, even innovations take place in diagnosing

    precancerous tumors and severity of the case. The usual tumor markers like Carcinoembryonic

    antigen, a-fetoprotein, prostate-specific antigen are low sensitive. Same as through with Mass

    Spectrometry (MS), Liquid Chromatography (LC) ---has also limitations and maybe high risk for

    low identification for possible tumor or precancerous tissues. And with the advancement,

    discovery of innovative set of Proteomic technologies appeared ---

    2D difference Gel Electrophoresis, this kind of study is having a cyanine solution

    (flurophores) for which it serve as the protein markers and mixing it with a specific protein

    sample together and placing it on a single gel and this indicates the initiation of fluoroscanning.

    And one of its advantages are accessibility of usage and very high sensitivity to protein marking

    process.

    Next one is the MALDI Imaging Mass Spectrometry,is a kind of advanced proteomic

    technology where the actual tissue is put on a matrix for some tests on the imaging mass

    spectrometry, it is also convenient for dual tests like having a protein impression and a

    histopathology impressions at the same time. Aside from mass spectra, many analyses can be

    made like background noise subtraction, spectral normalization and spectral alignment.

    The third one is the Electron Transfer Dissociation MS, it is an analysis of peptides

    through the use of mass spectrometry, with the identification of loss of phosphoric acid and N-

    linked glycans which Phosphorylation and glycosylation indicates the development of cancer

    cells/ precancerous tissues.

    And the last one is the Reverse-Phase Protein Assay, which have the principle of

    spotting of the patient samples--- proteins and tissues in an assay with a nitrocellulose support.

    It traces pathways in due presence of developing cancers, it also validate cellular pathways in

    mathematical models and identification of Cancer antigens that are capable of identifying an

    antibody response in patients with cancer.

    NURSING IMPLICATION:

    Advancements and latest technologies are booming rapidly. Healthcare has its own

    innovations that would make care to the patients and diagnosis convenient and accurate wise.

    Nurses should be updated with these technologies and that we are dealing today.

    Reading latest journals regularly, doing researches, and attending health related seminars

    would make selves informed and on to date.
