Adelaide University China Fee Scholarships (AUCFS)The University of Adelaide will provide an Adelaide University China Fee Scholarship to each student selected under this program. This Scholarship will pay the full tuition fee. The CSC will provide each student selected under this program with a living allowance as prescribed by the Chinese Government for the term of the Scholarship, a return airfare to Australia by the most economical route, visa application fees, and the cost of the Australian Government approved Overseas Student Health Cover. Fares for dependants and relocation expenses will not be provided. Only candidates undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy program are eligible. If students successfully complete the requirements of the program, they will be conferred with a Doctor of Philosophy degree by the University of Adelaide. Scholarships under this program will be for up to four years, subject to satisfactory academic progress.

Eligibility criteriaAdelaide University China Fee Scholarships are available to those applicants who:

• Are citizens and permanent residents of the People’s Republic of China at the time of application;

• Are less than 35 years old at the time of application (this is a CSC eligibility requirement);

• Are a university student completing a master’s degree, or enrolled as a first year PhD student, or new graduates from their university at the time of application;

• Agree to return to China upon completion of their studies and/or research;

• Hold an unconditional offer of enrolment at the University of Adelaide, which is subject to the applicant also being successful in applying for a CSC award. They must therefore fulfil the relevant academic entry requirements set by the University of Adelaide for all international scholarship holders, including having met the minimum English language proficiency requirements for direct entry into the chosen academic program of study; and

• Satisfy the selection criteria set out by CSC.

The China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the University of Adelaide are jointly offering postgraduate research scholarships to students from the People’s Republic of China who intend to undertake a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Adelaide.

Application Process• Email your expression of interest to

[email protected]; the Adelaide Graduate Centre (AGC) will arrange to undertake a preliminary assessment of eligibility

• If suitable supervision is available, the AGC will invite you to submit a formal application to the University of Adelaide by 31 January 2019

• If you are accepted into the PhD Program and awarded an Adelaide University China Fee Scholarship (AUCFS), you must then complete the China Scholarship Council Application

Applications open for a Semester 2, 2019 or Semester 1, 2020 intake 31 January 2019 Closing date for Application for University of Adelaide-China Fee Scholarship and Admission to a PhD to be lodged via the online system.

1 March 2019 The University of Adelaide will provide the China Scholarship Council and each qualified candidate for the Doctor of Philosophy with a copy of the letter of acceptance. The letter will be unconditional in terms of academic performance and English language proficiency.

April 2019 PhD candidates who have been granted the letter of acceptance shall apply to the China Scholarship Council for funding following the procedures set by the CSC.

End of May 2019 The China Scholarship Council will evaluate the listed candidates according to CSC requirements and priorities, and provide the University of Adelaide and Home Universities with a shortlist of scholarship recipients. The China Scholarship Council will announce the final list of scholarship recipients and forward scholarship offer letters to successful candidates.

September 2019 to February 2020 Successful applicants commence PhD studies
