CASC developed 11 types of Long March launch vehicles, 7 types in use with LEO up to 9200kg & GTO up to 5100kg. 88 launches completed with 46 consecutive successes since Oct. 1996.24 International launches performed with 30 satellites and 6 piggyback payloads.

There are 3 phases of Chang’e Project namely Circumlunar Orbiting, Landing on the Moon and Returning to the Earth;

Phase 1 of Chang’e Project was composed of five systems: Moon exploration satellite, launch vehicle, launch site, TT&C,

ground application;

CASC is responsible to develop Chang’e satellite and LM-3A launch vehicle.

SJ-5 is the first modern small scientific satellite based on general bus ( CAST 968 ).

SJ-5 was successfully launched on May 10th, 1999.

Double-Star Plan Double-Star project mainly studies the magnetic storm triggered by the solar activities and the interplanetary disturbances and the physical process of disasterous geospace weather, then further more set up the physical model of magnetic storm, dynamic model and forecast model of geospace environment.

The successful launches of TC-1 and TC-2 in 2003 & 2004 led to a new era of Chinese and European space research cooperation.

Therefore to provide scientific decision-making basis for preventing and reducing the losses caused by environment and calamity damage, and eventually to improve capability of disaster reduction & environment protection.
