• Currency: The peso is the currency of Chile The current peso has circulated since 1975, A Peso to the U.S Dollar was 1 U.S. Dollar to 510.38 Chilean Pesos in 2010.

• Transportation: They transport mostly by road but some travel by boat through water.

• Customs: . The family occupies a central role in Chilean life.. Extended families are very close and will frequently

congregate for major occasions and celebrations.

. Family and business are intertwined to the extent that nepotism is seen as a positive concept.

• Festivals: The Virgin of the Carmel ,Chile's patron saint. Chile’s most important religious celebration, full of traditional pageantry, occurs in mid-July in the small, northern village of La Tirana.

Mary's passage to heaven.November 1: All Saints Day-Catholic holiday celebrating all

saints.

• About 85% of Chile's population lives in urban areas• Chile is a multiethnic society and a majority of the population

can claim some European ancestry, mainly Spanish but also German, Italian, Irish, French, British, an various combinations.

• The Government of Chile is Republican, There language is Spanish.

• There religions are Roman Catholic 70%, Evangelical 15.1%, Jehovah's Witness 1.1%, other Christian 1%, other 4.6%, none 8.3%.

• There Population is 17 Million.

Flag of Chile• The red stripe represents the blood of

patriots who fought for Chile's independence. The white stripe symbolizes the snow of the Andes Mountains; while the blue stripe represents the sky. The star on the flag stresses the fact that Chile is a Unitarian republic, and not a federal republic.
