Personal Safety has four goals, all of which require listening and responding to children:
1. To give low-‐risk children addi*onal skills for preven*on
2. To give high-‐risk children the opportunity to tell
3. To give abused children who will never tell, the informa*on to help them deal with their problem, especially that the abuse was not their fault
4. To teach children today boundaries in order to prevent them from becoming the offenders of tomorrow

Unit 1: Pansariling Kaligtasan at Pagpapasiya (Personal Safety and Decision Making) Unit 2: Paghawak (Touch) Unit 3: Paninindigan (Assertiveness) Unit 4: Sistemang Sumusuporta o Tagapagtaguyod (Support System) Unit 5: Pisikal na Pang-aabuso at Pagpapasiya (Physical Abuse and Neglect)

activities, and materials needed (including sample
answers to questions provided for discussion)

How is PSL being Conducted? • PSL is provided over an average of 10 hours in school or 2-‐3 months if taught at least once a week.
• One session of PSL lasts for about 20 to 45 minutes.
• A PTA mee*ng is scheduled prior to the beginning of PSL classes for parents to raise ques*ons.

Who teaches PSL?
ONLY THOSE TRAINED IN PSL AND USE OF THE MATERIALS WILL BE ABLE TO
TEACH PERSONAL SAFETY.
For elementary school, social studies teachers, and/or class advisers, guidance counselors,
and principals
For secondary school, values educa*on teachers, social studies, homeroom teachers, guidance counselors, and principals
