Cullinan Diamond Mine is situated in the town of Cullinan, 30km east of Pretoria. The Mine is using mechanised trackless block-cave mining.
Chief Safety Officer(1-year fixed-term contract)
The incumbent will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an efficient Safety Management System and Risk Management Programme as prescribed by the MHSA.Tasks and responsibilities: • Fulfil the duties of a Chief Safety Officer in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act • Develop, implement and maintain a Safety Management System and a Risk Management programme to ensure achievement of objectives, by establishing and implementing approved medium and long term plans, aligned to the Company’s strategic business goals • Provide specialist technical knowledge and advice to all levels of Management and resolve a wide range of Safety and Risk management-related problems and related interfacing issues, requiring solutions for new projects, unusual conditions and corrective measures • Manage the Company’s Safety System, which is based on ISO18001 requirements and the Risk Management programme to maintain corporate standards by: * Continually reviewing programmes and implementing adjustments to ensure alignment with developments on the Mine, in industry and safety standards * Keeping record of all safety incidents, internal stop notices * Analysing trends from incidents and accidents, interpreting results and implementing recommended corrective action Mine-wide * Informing Management of specific trends and perform ad-hoc campaigns on specific trends * Facilitating change processes to ensure continuous improvements to internal control systems, employee participation and Management support * Implementing and reviewing safety-related policies, procedures, control standards and measures * MOSH participation, feedback and implementation of initiatives • Manage subordinates to deliver the outputs of their jobs • Complete all personnel functions, ie capturing of time and attendance, leave applications, performance management • Develop effective working relationships with consultants, IOM and Governmental authorities and participate in seminars/forums to keep abreast of developments within the industry • Understand and interpret all relevant safety-related legislation, regulations and standards as it applies to the Mine’s operations, confirm interpretation with the Inspector of Mines and Machinery and manage implementation • Inform Management of any legislative changes and implications thereof and proactively review the necessary programmes.Minimum requirements: • A National Diploma in Safety Management or equivalent qualification in Mining or Engineering • A Blasting Certificate • A valid driver’s licence • A SAMTRAC/SHEMTRAC certificate • COMSOC 1&2 certificates • Extensive experience in an integrated Risk Management Programme • A completed Internal Auditing Course • RCAT investigation • In-depth knowledge of mining legislation • At least 5 years’ experience in safety management in the mining industry, especially in an underground mine • Qualifications in other legs of safety which the tertiary qualification does not include will be an added advantage.Other skills/competencies: • Professional knowledge of safety aspects with experience in integrated SHE management systems in a mining environment, ie OHSAS18001, ISO31001 • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to interact at all levels both internally and externally • Computer literate • Meet the requirements of the appointment of Chief Safety Officer in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act. Senior Training Officer: SurfaceThe successful candidate will provide a technical development service to ensure the implementation and maintenance of training interventions according to organisational needs as well as legal and mandatory requirements for permanent and contractor employees in the plant.Tasks and responsibilities: • Coordinate Surface Mining training (including TMM) as per SLP requirements • Deliver training and quality assurance • Develop lesson plans for training programmes • Facilitate effective learning environments and evaluate the effectiveness of current training programmes • Conduct training and assessments on metallurgical-specific processes and machinery • Present unit standard base training and short courses • Assess unit standard base training and short courses • Control the administration of training documentation • Coach and guide trainees • Ensure compliance with MQA and ISO standards • Address the requirements of Section 10 of the Mine Health and Safety Act • Ensure adherence to Safety, Health and Environmental programme goals and objectives • Ensure personal and co-workers’ adherence to and compliance with Security and the Company’s SHE objectives • Work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice, and report any observations of this not being done.Minimum requirements: • A Grade 12 • A National Certificate Occupational Directed ETDP Level 4 • Certified Assessor or ability to achieve Certified Assessor within the first 12 months of employment • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the operational processes of a metallurgical processing environment and surface trackless mobile machinery • 2 years’ experience in a training discipline • Computer literacy (MS Office Suite) • A valid driver’s licence.Other skills/competencies: • Sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English • The ability to interface with all customers • The ability to work independently and as part of the team • Facilitation, presentation, coaching and mentoring skills • Sound planning, leadership and organising abilities • Independent, self-motivated and proactive thinking. Occupational Hygiene PractitionerThe successful candidate will provide a specialised and efficient service in the operation of the ventilation and occupational hygiene control of the Operation.Tasks and responsibilities: • Ensure routine measurements pertaining to the ventilation standards and regulations are performed • Coordinate and oversee the operational control of the Occupational Health Centre and medical surveillance programme • Organise sampling of
general atmosphere (air quality surveys) and underground water • Perform quarterly checks on underground fire-fighting equipment, interpret results and make recommendations • Update legal emergency plans • Draw up layouts on auxiliary ventilation changeovers • Calibrate measuring instruments • Manage and control subordinates • Participate in cost saving initiatives • Be responsible for long- and short-term planning with regard to ventilation requirements • Implement MOSH initiatives and Fatigue Management Programmes • Maintain and enforce the Mine’s Codes of Practice, Standards and Procedures and report any observations of this not being done • Ensure personal and co-workers’ adherence to and compliance with Security and the Company’s SHE objectives.Minimum requirements: • A Grade 12 with Maths and Science • An Advanced Certificate in Mine Environmental Control • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant underground experience • Computer literacy in the MS Office Suite and Windows System • A valid drivers’ licence.Other skills/competencies: • Sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English • Basic fire-fighting skills • Independent, proactive thinker and self-starter and the ability to do own job planning • The ability to work in a team. Occupational Hygiene OfficerThe incumbent will provide a specialised and efficient service in the operation of the ventilation and occupational hygiene control of the Operation. Tasks and responsibilities: • Conduct various ventilation and occupational hygiene surveys • Inspect and investigate various underground and surface sections • Compile reports • Log incidents and accidents and follow up on the progress of remedial actions • Take occupational hygiene and ventilation samples • Update rescue plans • Conduct surface fan measurements • Assist with ventilation fan stock control and notifications to the Senior Officer: SHE/Hygiene on condition, stock level and issuing • Update departmental hygiene database, statistics and graphs • Perform various other duties including administrative functions to assist the Senior Officer: SHE/Hygiene • Ensure adherence to Codes of Practice for Medical Fitness, Standards, Procedures and Protocols • Ensure personal and co-workers’ adherence to and compliance with Security and the Company’s SHE objectives • Work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice, and report any observations of this not being done.Minimum requirements: • A Grade 12 • A Practical Certificate in Mine Environmental Control • An Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control • A minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience • Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the Windows System • A valid driver’s licence. HR Development Systems Administrator

Environmental Monitor(Fixed-term contract)
The successful candidate will organise routine ventilation and occupational hygiene observations, study the results, visit problem areas and undertake special projects as and when required.Tasks and responsibilities: • Manage environmental monitoring schedules for the operation • Conduct water sampling and take to external lab for analysis • Compile water monitoring reports and trends • Conduct and analyse fall-out dust and compile monitoring reports and trends • Conduct environmental noise monitoring and compile reports and trends • Submit legal monitoring reports to authorities as required • Assist Environmental Officer with the EMS, inspections, report writing and other duties as and when required • Work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice, and report any observations of this not being done • Ensure personal and co-workers’ adherence to and compliance with Security and Company’s SHE objectives.Minimum requirements: • A Grade 12 with Maths and Science • A degree or National Diploma in Environmental Management/Sciences or related field, eg Natural Sciences • 1 year’s experience in environmental monitoring • Computer literacy in the MS Office Suite • A valid driver’s licence.Other skills/competencies: • Sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English • Independent, proactive thinker self-starter with have the ability to do own job planning • The abilityto work in a team • Good interpersonal skills • The ability to participate in cost-saving initiatives. Rustenburg – Anglo American Platinum shareholders are referred to the announce-ment released on 18 January 2016 confirm-ing that Sibanye Gold Limited (“Sibanye”) shareholders had approved the acquisition of the Rustenburg Operations from Anglo Amer-ican Platinum (“the Transaction”). The Company is pleased to announce that on 16 March 2016 the Transaction was ap-proved by the Competition Authorities in ac-cordance with the Competition Act. The ap-proval is subject to certain conditions and qualifications which Anglo American Platinum and Sibanye have confirmed are acceptable. Shareholders are advised that the implemen-tation of the Transaction is still subject to, amongst others, the fulfilment of the follow-ing key condition precedent:• The granting of consent in terms of sec-

Rustenburg – A planned electrical substation outage is scheduled to take place on 10 April 2016 between 07h00 and 13h00, according to Edgar Phiri, Engineer: Technical & Infrastructure Services.“The Electrical Engineering Services Unit will conduct the following opera-tions during this time,” Thapelo Matebe-si, Rustenburg Local Municipality (RLM) spokesperson said. • Relocate a load control switch; and• Release the FCF 33kV Feeder No2

Affected areas include the Rustenburg CBD, Industrial Area, Olifantsnek, Ri-etvlei, Noord, Tlhabane West, parts of Kroondal, Cashan (all extensions), Sa-farituine (all extensions), Protea Park, Geelhout Park (all extensions), Tlha-bane West, Donkerhoek, Waterfall and Waterfall East.“Due to the nature and the scope of work and the associated safety hazards, the tasks have to be conducted under a total shutdown of the substation.
