Chief Minister Unveils Statue of Sree Narayana Guru
Sree Narayana Guru's sculpture installed by the state government as part of the centenary of 'we
have no caste' proclamation was unveiled by Chief Minister Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan on 21
September 2020 at the Observatory Hills near Museum.
The eight-feet tall statue was sculpted by Unni Kanayi for the Cultural Affairs Department. Mr.
A.K Balan (Minister for Law, Welfare of Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes & Backward
Classes) presided over the function attended by Mr. Kadakampally Surendran (Minister for Co-
operation, KeralaTourism & Devaswoms) Mr. K Sreekumar (Mayor) MLAs Mr. V Sivakumar,
Mr. V K Prashant and Mr. O Rajagopal and others. Sculptor Unni Kanayi was felicitated during
the event.
