WHO ARE WE?The Pre-Optometry Professional Society (POPS) was created to inform prospective
optometry students about all aspects of the optometry field, including the optometry school
application process, the Optometry Admissions Test (OAT), and the different types of settings in which an optometrist can practice.
POPS serves as a vehicle for its members to become well-rounded candidates for optometry school, provides networking opportunities with
optometrists and admissions representatives, and allows pre-optometry students to build friendships with other students who have
similar interests.

MEMBER POINTS◼ Member points determine active status in the organization & officer eligibility
*point cut-offs are subject to change
MEMBER POINT POLICY ● Members will typically be awarded points based on the hours of attendance at these
major events● Members who provide transportation for an event can also receive points ● Generally, 1 point will be awarded for local events. Out-of-town events that require
longer distances of travel will be awarded different points at the discretion of the POPS officers and will be announced as necessary.
No Show Policy◼Sign up for events on the sign up sheets sent out in the newsletter◼Once signed up for any event, you have until 48 hours before the event to take yourself off
the sign up sheet
◼Signed up but no showed will be deducted 1.5 times the points for that particular event
